Wow Selina... that was amazing... clearly people do not understand that Mariachi Vargas members themselves chose you... the point of the vocalist competition was to find the best singer .. and I think you are NOTHING LESS THAN THE BEST.. I also love the way you interpreted the song and made it your own... anyone can sing a song the way it's normally done... but to do what you did takes talent! Congrats!!
This is either portions of an opera, or poor theatre. This is not Mariachi music (except, perhaps, for the song authored by Don Jose Alfredo). Too much unnecessary movements on the part of the singer which is in poor taste when one considers the venue in which it was presented.. On a scale of 1 to 10, I give her a 2--- and that is being very generous.

You may be in some rando form of singing, be it chorus or something else, but that doesnt warrant you actually knowing about singing. This "venue" was a performance of the song itself and not the Mariachi band itself. It wasnt a typical performance for a Mariachi song but it was of the genre regardless. Dont try to one-up people when you'll clearly turnout the fool.
my friends ariana and sandrita, from del rio, were in this competition. i dunno how they did though. but i heard selena sing at the concert. she did really well. :]
Congratulation Selina! I thought you were awesome and the creativity you brought to the song was just great! Your voice sounded so light and it was like listening to the call of a nymph-almost like hypnotizing. It was just beautiful.
