@aftershock71 "if the song i sang to you could fill your heart with joy id sing forever" umm idk where you get your "facts" but thats not written for his dad. Sorry bud
@RickardoMute Same! I thought that too, but then i watched the episode of full house again and there's a part where uncle Jesse asked the beach boys if he could use their song LOL
Dennis Wilson wrote this, NOT John Stamos...he just re did the song in the early 1990's with the beach boys. As mentioned above, I am very glad that Dennis left us with this beautiful piece, it just makes you stop and think back on the people that have come and gone through your life.
I was arguing with my 19 year old about what constitutes good music today. She is a fan of the crap that is popular today. I sent her this song and she burnt it to a CD. She then asked me who wrote this, and said this is great. I explained to her who it was. She loved the song.
Did anyone watch the show? The Beach Boys were on the show....and when Jesse covered it....he says "Man, if I had a song like Forever I know I'd make it" and Love says "You want it? It's yours".......and the Beach Boys are singing on the new Forever Track.....The Uncle Jesse version is just a rock 80-90s rendition
I didn't think "Uncle Jesse" really wrote that song. If you notice on the episode the video is on, Jesse is interviewed by an MTV reporter who says he got it from a Beach Boys song.I guess the Beach Boys Ok'd it with the show to have their song on it.
I love the Beach Boys so much. Keep changing my favourite song of theirs' , but always come back to this one, with Dennis' great vocals. A tough hard living guy, but with so much sensitivity in his music.
Actually, John Stamos -did- record this song -with- the Beach Boys on their album Summer in Paradise, in the early 1990s. Both versions (this original one and Stamos' one) are excellent renditions of this magnificent song, imho. Can't get enough of it! Guess we have to thank John Stamos and Full house to introduce a new generation to this song in the early 1990s! =)
Nice voice. So much talent in one family. Sad that there's only one of them left. They had so many memorable hits. They'll always be one of my favorite groups.
@aftershock71 No it wasn't written to Murry. But Dennis was actually able to finally show his dad that he had talent. Thats where a lot of people get mistaken. His dad said it was beautiful but it wasn't written for him.
@blueberrycanyoncakes You're musically retarded. Given that you have Nickelback in your favourites, it's obvious you've been tricked by studio gloss and have no concept of what musical soul is. Stop listening to music. Thx.
This song was written by Dennis Wilson to his dad Murry. It is not a love song, nor a romantic ballad to a woman. However, people can interpret it as they want I guess.
Every mention John Stamos and Full House makes my blood boil with Beach Boy fan boy rage. Every mention of Dennis Wilson fills me with happiness and joy.
@RickardoMute I know! Mine too! I have seen every episode of full house like 50 times, but it was only this time that I caught Martha Quinn say it was a beach boy song during Jesse's MTV interview. Would explain why Becky and that choir could join in at the wedding. lol.
the funny thing is that the beach boys where in full house so many times, and they even performed this song with john stamos on the show...and people still thought this was a full house original song by john stamos lol he just did the cover
@thevoiceoftheBBs funny you should say that, when they did don't hurt my little sister, i always imagined they were collectively my older brothers who sung songs like that to protect me! i can't believe it's all over, i guess they were just too good to be true...

Its upsetting to think people know this from Full House. Dennis made this during an emotional time in his life and his passion is all over this song.
