My parents spent their honeymoon in New York, I can't recall the hotel, but Goy Lomabardo's Orchestra was there, so needless to say he was always one of their favorites! Many thanks for the posting, very nostalgic and heartwarming!
When I was 3 years old, I would go to the Ground Round with my Grandmother. I would sit on the table and sing this to her friends. It was a very happy memory.
OH LOVELY -my father used to sing this to my older sister who years later would sing it to my daughter when she was a baby and so did I... special to all of us.. thank you !
I am not sure who the vocalist is, I should have wrote the label data down better, before I sold it!...Thank you for checking it out!!...friends, Lloyd.
Thank you SO much for this exceptional recording, I had heard this many many years ago and so nice to find it again, and the quality is terrific! Thanks!
@lrh1966 3 different recordings of this song are currently posted on YouTube: the first one most likely conducted around 1920, the next one in 1940 (your version) and the third one around 1960... :-)
This was a #1 hit Guy Lombardo for two weeks in 1941 (out of a 14 week chart run). The vocal is by Kenny Gardner and the Lombardo Trio.
