@katherine11138 It's always been an ongoing process, and Im still learning. I have come a long way since this video, Russia is like a second home to me now that I have spent so much time there. Im so glad I can speak it.
i taught myself russian just the same way this guy did. i didn't know untill i looked but at my local libary they have cds there for language learners and i did just as he did when you fall asleep and listen, it helps so much!
My girl is kazas, she speaks russian and I wanted to learn her language very well can someone teach me?? if you interested in english or spanish i would love to teach you if you do the same favor :D pokaa i spasiba kazhdyi
i speak spanish very well and english a little bit, and i want to improve my english, and russian if there any person who wants to speak in spanish i can help you with spanish so u will help me with english, send me a message....only serious people plz, and it would be better if u are a native english speaker, thnx!
I really appreciate this video, I have just started learning Russian now, in my first year of college. Although I find the language absolutely amazing, I started feeling less enthousiastic once we got into more "serious" grammar. However I will take your advice on this one and try to watch as many films in Russian as possible, I really have good feeling about it. Your video is really inspiring! Balshoe spasiba
ok the guy mentioned listening to music before and while sleeping.. do you guys recommend any bands? the only russian music i have are from t.A.t.u (16 songs from them)
by the way, can you tell me where I can get some great russian films, like a webite or so. Like Moscow Dosen't Believe in Tears. And other great movies
Actually the Russian pronouns sound like French because they are cognate (they have the same origin). French is derived from Latin. Latin and Russian and many other ancient languages all derived from Indo-European (that's what the call it because there is no written record of it). Ancient Greek, some middle eastern languages and even some Indian languages all derived from Indo-European.
Yeah, zenmart is right that Russian has some similarities with Romantic languages and even Greek because of (maybe?) Indo-European. ты (ti) and вы (vwi) are like tu and vous in French and tu and voi in Italian and many words have Latin roots, it seems. And the Cyrillic alphabet is pretty similar to the Greek one, at least (А Г К П Р Т Y Ф Х) seem to be exactly the same. Interesting...
russian is similar to armenian . in armenian we have diffrent word or pluralize when you talk to elders and if you want to respect people. very nice languages both armenian and russian
French is a Romance language like Portuguese, Italian, Spanish, etc. Russian is a part of the Slavic language family, I believe. Two very different families and also Russian uses cyrillic alphabet, not Latin alphabet. Russian is pretty hard to learn but if you know another slavic language, it could be easier.
Ty it was amazing i really want to speak Russian Now because over the Summer i Met some amazing friends From Russia and i made a promise to go visit them and i cant wait as well whose playing in the background?
I started learning with the Teach Yourself series too, and was very happy and learned a lot with the first level until I reached the DECLENSIONS in the second level and realized that russian is one of the most difficult languages in the world to master!!!!!!!!
Ive decided to learn Russian. I was unsure and was split between French (because I live in close proximity with quebec) and Russian. However, I love the way Russian sounds and think the culture is fascinating.
how amazing, i am a Quebeccer trying to learn russian, i've got english already (obviously) and some spanish, ive been reading so many russian books, Dostoievski, Tolstoi, Tchekov, Bourkhine, Soljenistyne... thats a good trick to help you understand their culture better.
I have it hung down in banner style because I get good coverage behind with back lighting. And even then I have to zoom in a little. If the wind was blowing to my right as I am in the video, or left for the person watching, the flag is then horizontal like it would be on a flag pole, just imagine there's no wind. its all good.
Haven't you ever seen the Olympics, where they hang all the flags in this manner? There is an ettiquitte and proper form to hang them in this manner and it's acceptable as long as the rules are followed.
thx man im learing the same way u do. listening to music, i also game in russian. but didn't watch movies in russian yet. i also read books and i got these cd for learning aswell and this is a great help to. спасибо
No, After learning on my own, I studied Russian at Moscow State University. That and spending time in Russia with my commitment and passion for the language. Tu travailles (You work informal form)
Vous travaillez (pretty sure u can guess that one :P)

B2 is a good man. for some reason reminds me of Interpol, but its much heavier.
its good rock. check it all out. and the movies.
i read u were in Izhevsk and Tallinn? how was it?
what others have u been to? im from Vladimir. and Kirov, actually Yaransk. Ioshkar-Ola and Cheboksary are cities ive visited also.

good video man.
and nice kino playing in the background, if im not mistaking!
both of the brother movies are awesome.
i highly recommend watching "Brigada". its about the 90s in Russia and how crime dominated politics.
in music, check out "Lyube", a Russian patriotic rock band. also B2, who play the main theme song in Brat 2.
and check out soviet cinema! its the best!
very nice man. keep up the good work.
