  • this shit actually works sick i did it right now

  • I'm thinking about buying this box... From sites like Amazon, DTVAnswers, RadioShack, and Consumer Reports this converter ranks in the top 5 and is number 1 among consumers for solid picture with vivid color.

  • I agree with the other post... "The guy should look up the definition of review" His other socalled DTV Box reviews are all the same aswell. Where is the review part I ask?

  • Camera guy, please use a tripod.

  • Give the guy a break! He can do what he wants on HIS OWN VIDEO.

I was looking for a review on the picture quality, etc., too. But there ARE some people who don't know how to hook them up, and this could be helpful for them.

So, for the ungrateful, foul-mouthed critics: don't be so lazy and cheap. Go out and buy a converter box and CREATE YOUR OWN VIDEO . . . [for someone else to trash . . . ]

  • I'd have to agree with flanker22 on this one. I was looking to review on the quality of the picture and user friendliness not how to install one. Wonder if anyone's found a dtv conv. that offers a component &/or s-video output(s) in addition to the coax?

  • the tivax is hard to find in my area, but the access hd 1080d are plenty. too bad they dont include rca cable. coaxil cable sucks

  • You can pickup a 3' or 6' RCA cable at any Dollar Store.

  • review the fucking product dont tell me how to install it wtf.

  • +1 i agree

  • +100 i more agree.

The guy should look up the definition of review.

  • Bought two of these. When they were connected to my original roof antenna they only got so-so reception. Once hooked up to a new HD antenna (from Crutchfield) the units BOTH DO NOT WORK. Buyer beware. Sounds like cable and satellite companies are in collusion with the government on this one. Back to Crutchfield to have them help me sort this mess out without cable or satellite. Thank goodness for them... Tivax is junk!

  • Well guys, I got three, third was a replacement for the first one that died.. now the second one has died ( both won't power on )

American is going to take all of them back OR ELSE. and I will spend my money elsewhere.

Based on my experience Tivax has a poor production or quality process somewhere, and I have a LONG background in electronics of all types

    PP

  • Looks like this Tivax STB-T9 could be a winner, and Consumer Reports sure thought so when they gave it the top spot. Was hoping to see an actual review of this box, though.

  • Comparing the Magnavox TB100MW9 converter box to the Tivax converter box, since I have two TVs and needed two boxes, the Magnavox has Letterbox, Zoom and Full for viewing choices, and the Tivax has Normal, Zoom, Wide and Cinema, plus I noticed that, connecting to the same cables/antennas, I'd see better/stronger signal strengths on the Tivax, so even though I have the Magnavox for the other TV, I think that I'll buy another Tivax for that TV. Example: one station's signal: Magnavox 10 Tivax 40

  • The only thing though with mine was that I had started recording video, using my Sony HC52 camcorder, then had paused while recording, then I found out that the head needed cleaning when I tried recording again, so since I couldn't re-record me removing the original packing, and removing it from the box, I left the 2 minute 32 or so seconds of "bad" recording to show that I needed to clean the head of the camcorder, which I seem to have to do every time I record something.

  • The only thing I do differently is that I make the connections, other than the power connection, first before connecting to the AC power jack. I also noticed with mine that when I first connected my Tivax, that it had a different screen showing than the one shown in this video, and I didn't get a TV signal until setting it up first, so I guess that he probably had connected this box earlier, but that's ok, because I did a similar thing with my Magnavox, but I showed the Tivax right from the box.

  • My mom had me order these with her coupons and 36.00 out of pocket and it has been 3 weeks with no response despite numerous e-mails.Bad thing is im responsible for getting her boxes to her, sucks for me!! Beware of this company, they have also taken their telephone# off the site! BEWARE!!

  • If you're talking about "3 weeks without a response" for the coupons, I want you to know that I applied for the two government coupons via their website on February 19, 2008, and I received them almost two months later, around April 17th or so, and they were "good" until the 4th of July, so you do need to wait a while to get the coupons, and I picked up my Tivax converter box, using the coupon, right from Radio Shack, although I had already had purchased a $49.00 or so Magnavox from Walmart.

  • If you're talking about 3 weeks waiting for the Tivax converter boxes to arrive, I'll just say that when I purchased the Magnavox converter box, from Walmart, it was right on the shelf, and I did buy that while waiting for the coupons to arrive, then a few weeks after purchasing the Magnavox converter box, the coupons arrived, whereas I then went to Radio Shack and purchased the Tivax converter box right there in a box that they had on hand in their store stock. I didn't order those.

  • wow..get a life...you are so mono-tone

  • go to my channel i got info about the rca dta800 only 49.98 9.87 after coupon

  • not a review - only a basic connection/setup tutorial
