I was about to say that. This IS the heart of Brian, when you look beneath all that macho-man mask and his there but hidden insecurities, THIS IS ABSOLUTELY THE REAL BRIAN. This is the part of him he kept hidden because deep down his worst fear is being hurt and left alone. If you listen to him talk about why he hates relationships, his reason is always, "it never works out." Sadly, he ends up alone. this is a great scene..shows how far brian and justin have come...i believe brian loves justin but asking him to marry him was more about babylon being bombed than making a committment....brian changed over 5 seasons, and so did justin...in the end justin realizes that you don't need a ring on your finger for the world to know you love each other.

One who has changed not only because of the bombing of Babylon, but because he's grown up in the 5 years the show was on. He's learned that love is possible for him, that loving someone & being committed to them isn't as bad as his parents made it seem. He's finally able to admit to himself, which in turn lets him admit it to Justin, that Justin is enough for him, he is his soulmate. *sigh* I love them!
