When you have reached level 100 in smithing you cant improve your weapons and armour better than you already have (legendary). What you can do is save up 20 blacksmith potions, take em at the same time, and improve all your stuff while its effect is active. That is why my chest piece has 250 in armour rating, and my sword has 150 in attack.

If you're going to grind, why not just go the full distance and do that Hermaeus Mora book exploit. Level 81 from 15 and 100 in all skills, in about 1 hour (30mins with fast travelling). Game scales with you so you'll still get a challenge on Master difficulty.

Get a bow, go hunting, get hides, create leather and leather stripes, Leather Bracelets

Improve:

Stealth, Archery, Smithing, One-handed (little)

Get a bow, go hunting, get hides and pelts, create leather and leather strips, and create LEATHER BRACERS.

Leather bracers are less of a waste of resources.

If you cannot find any animals to kill, or are just too lazy, buy leather or fur from the shops. If you need money to buy these items, do some guild missions; they pay well (Thieves' Guild, Dark Brotherhood, etc.).

I think I found a faster way, other than using console cmds. Use fortify restoration glitch to get super enchants, then upgrade weapons. I think the way you get exp for smithing is the same as alchemy; it depends on the cost of the materials vs the cost of the end product.

the problem with this technique is you only level up one aspect of the game which gets you to a high level but your combat skills and equipment are weak. for example in the video this player is level 21, with 100 smithing but as you can see in his skill tree he's got a low block and heavy armor skill level, this means when you go to fight enemies there'll be scaled up too high for you to fight.
