MTV rated him as second only to Mariah Carey and I didn't agree with that. I think Freddie is much more powerful and amazing than Mariah. But, most people even those of us Metal Heads agree he was the greatest vocalist ever. Saddly though many over look that because of his life choice.

Do yourself a favor, look up Queen-Live at Wembley Stadium-1986 Saturday. It's a full concert, and probably one of the best you can ever imagine. I've never seen a band recieve such a reception from a crowd! It was more intense than even Ozzfest, and that's saying something! Freddie was the most amazing performer ever.

Tonal quality, delivery and presence of the voice, emotional texture--all of these things and more go into making a great singer. Bono doesn't have the greatest range, but he makes up for it.

And it is true that the majority of people consider him a freak (Wacko Jacko?) and his last album didn't do well at all - Invincible - as a result of his child abuse allegations (and poor music).

(Americans had issues with Queen after their I want to break free video, and didn't get the joke - and that really is generally known)
By the way - MJ had an estimated $400 million in debts. Hence why he couldn't keep the upkeep of Neverland and other stuff. £350 million wouldn't help much!

@Funkynuts1 in 2003 the beatles catalog was estimated to 350 millions$ US and he had 50% of the parts. so it would have made something like 175 millions i guess, but MJ was a smart buesness man and knew how much the catalog net worth was growing every year. in 2009 he would have made at least 500 millions but instead of selling it, he announced the this is it concerts. In 2003 MJ net worth was around 230 millions$ i don't remember the exact numbers but he had 50% parts of the beatles catalog wich worthed 350 millions$. So if he had sold his parts for 175 millions he wouldn't have had enough to clear his debt. So okay he was in debt lol. But in 2009 the catalog was estimated to over 1 billion So he could have sold his 50% parts and make a beautiful 500 hundreds millions dollars.
