I, like everyone else, am finding this hilarious. I would very much like to know where they got their stats. Canada had 64,000-65,000 casualties (that counts wounded, missing, etc.) in total (all of WWI).
@FokTop I am afraid you are wrong! those numbers are the dead. If you include the wounded you can more than triple the number. If you go to the hall of honor in the parliament buildings in Ottawa you can see the names of the dead in a large book which has a turning of the page every day. One large book for each war. WW1 has over 45000 names of those KILLED in action
100,000 WOW thats alot considering there was around 67,000 canadians who died throughout the Great War, and if im not mistaken i think it was 5000 dead for Canada at Passchendaele....such a tragic loss. that General Sir Douglas Haig was a fuckin moron.
film looks great, but where do you get the idiots that talk about it on the news, 5,000 dead not 100,000! do you get 100 million jews were murdered in the holocaust, no. We have a long way to go before people know what they are talking about, regarding the Great War
Canada lost over 100,000 during WW1

I see.
It seems my original source used the term 'casualties' in place of 'dead' (they cannot be interchanged; they don't mean the same thing).
I double checked with a few more sources, and you are right. According to Veterans Affairs Canada, 66,655 Canadians died, and 172,950 were wounded.
So, I stand corrected and I thank you for pointing out my mistake.
Now if only someone like you had been there to correct this reporter's mistake. (in a non-insulting tone!!)
