Creativity and ingenuity are rare traits nowadays; keep up the good work. And as far as Geo Metros go, most people that hate on them have never owned one and therefor just don't understand!
@AlabamaCrackerHonkey, Thanks for the kind words! I have 4 Metro convertibles and put a Kubota diesel in one and posted it on my channel. I love these little cars and modified my daily driver to get 54mpg. The Popeye is getting a turbo diesel upgrade with a Chevy truck engine. I don't care about the high price of Spinach, I want to push the throttle and GO. My only regrets about being doing it myselfer is that I cannot download the last 40 years of my experience ang give it to someone new...
@kimmer6 I've watched your Geo videos; very nice! I used to own a Metro and then a Swift which is just a four-banger version of the Metro. Some people don't understand that some of us still buy/build cars for their practicality and not as a status symbol. Honest truth: I put over 400K miles on the swift and it never once let me down, no exceptions! I'm also a big fan of diesel engines and have owned many old Mercedes diesels and a couple other types as well but I've always wanted a diesel boat.
Thank you for the information. I would really enjoy getting a water temperature /depth
finder device except that I don't have a boat and should get one of them first. I know someone who fishes the Sierras and would be interested in the fish finder.
Kimmer, I am heavily into meteorological gadgets and have lots of them. In your
video of the Popeye in action you point to a cluster of instruments which of course is for the engine performance. But you also show briefly a display that shows the numbers 63 and 40. Is this a water depth/ water temperature display showing that the Popeye is cruising on the surface of water that is 40 feet deep and 63 degrees at the surface ?
@KristerBrunei Yes, I like Abdel Kader. It reminds me of the year I spent in Bahrain 30 years ago. I met the King, Sheikh Issa, and swam on his beach. Ihad many good friends there.
Ken, The Metro wiper switches have been moved to the left side of the steering panel, near the chicken handle for when it gets rough...and I really need the wipers. 2 fans now sit on either side of the fish finder. I decided to put my Mercruiser outdrive on coupled to the 6.5 turbodiesel and remove the rudder and prop. I have everything ready but want to build a test stand and run the engine first. The downpipe will be 4" SS tubing 3 feet long, not exhausting thru the prop. Should sound good.
You are absolutely correct sir, I do have 79 CBX. I was one of the techs at Honda dealer back then. You would of loved to see the turbo drag bikes built to 250Hp w/air-shifting, ten inch slick. I have to admit, I always wanted the pearl white 82 with body faring and bags.

These boats are hard to find and a picture/movie tells a thousand words. Could you post some more of Popeye. Maybe at full speed and in the rough?

Uh oh....Phils CBX like 79 to 82 Honda CBX bikes??? Somewhere in my garage I have 4 of 'em....one of each year. The 6 in my name refers to my '79.
Thanks for nice comment. Yesterday I bought a Chevy 6.5 turbodiesel to put in the boat. Cheers back to ya!
