  • Sleeping pills? It seems like she had some sort of issues if she had to take them to fall asleep. Usually when you can't sleep it's because something is on your mind that troubles you and that you can't stop thinking about.

Illuminati? Never the less she was a beautiful human being, she had an amazing soul :)

  • why r great people always surrounded by idiots?

  • DEAR GOD GIVE US BACK MARILYN MONROE IN RETURN WILL GIVE U KENDRA WILKINSON !!!!!!!!

  • She is not super bright.

  • @SamplingMusic

She wasn't dumb. If you listen carefully to all the things she's ever said, she's actually a very witty person, it's just her fake persona and mannerisms she puts on that allowed the media to portray her as a 'dumb blonde'. She's not even naturally blond...

  • I hate the face she makes when they anounce.her divorce she looks heart broken :(

  • "... she was like a record stuck in a groove." It's what happens when you feel powerless to change anything.

  • Marilyn Monroe's last words - "You sure that's aspirin Bobby?"

  • isn't it weird how peoples voices are so much different since then?

  • I think it's such a disservice to remember her as a sex symbol. From this interview you can tell that she was a very intelligent, sweet, yet vulnerable woman. She was much more than the dumb blonde she was made out to be. Poor thing, I don't think anybody was ever there for her.

  • The hollywood scene can do anyones head in, It's a shame that Marilyn didn't have any real family to look out for her. She needed people on her side. It may seem strange but she reminds of Britney Spears when she was going through her breakdown. But the difference was Britney had her parents to step in and help her.

  • She way so much smarter than they wanted us to believe.

  • "I hope we got something here?" Marilyn was a whole hell of a lot smarter than they gave her credit for. Her intuition and understanding of fame is poetic and lyrical. As a male of the species, I just want to swoop down and rescue her. Just incredible.

  • Thank god women, in this day and age, are now not deemed "crazy" for expressing emotion. Obviously she had moments of depression..but by no means was she crazy. Every time she expresses any sort of emotion in this interview the narrator says shes unstable...love that this interview shows she had guts. truly great.

  • She was never respected... and she deserved it!

  • She has such a beautiful smile!

  • It's so ironic how all she wants to be is a house wife or a cleaning lady.

  • i love her laugh. nuff said.

  • Her laugh-3

  • The interviewer is just doing his job, but he is grating as he doesn't seem to have empathy for her pain.

  • I love the fact she had shape, she was a woman, not a stick..if only we had more women like that today

  • This makes me cry.

  • This is why I would never want to be famous. People don't really love you. They love your image, they love who they think you are. Can you imagine? no privacy, no real life. If you want any sort of normal existence you have to lock yourself inside your house and close the blinds so the photographers can't sneak a picture of you changing or watching tv. (Who even cares about if the celebrities are buying toilet paper, or walking their dog I mean really?!) Wow what a life. sounds like hell.

  • @pisceanmind I agree it is hell weather being a movie or a music star but that sad part of having a life as a star is you get all the downside crap that goes along with it and many weeks months years of no privacy or normal life

  • shes funni as hell, ppl dont rlly know that

  • she's not a natural beauty..

  • @RongGENG60 Who cares, no beauty is completly natural...

  • @RongGENG60 Yes she was! I mean she wore lots of makeup most of the time, but have you seen her pictures without makeup? She is still gorgeous! Not "Hollywood pin-up model" looking, but normal "woman walking down the street" beautiful! If she wasn't famous and you saw natural her, I'm sure you'd think she looked great.

  • she was such a beautiful woman, wow very unique!

  • @FRIEDBREAD62 she probably went under beta programming :s

  • if she was so unstable and hard to handle then why did 20th century fox hire her again to finish the movie...let's you know Marilyn obviously wasn't the problem

  • Its funny how people always get legends after they die.. but she is one angel..

  • @MonaTheBellydancer It shows how ignorant people are.

  • @SamplingMusic

    True.

  • I love her so much! Such a beautiful woman, with such a big and loving heart.

I really miss her and wish she would still be alive. The original diva.

  • She reminds me of my grandmother.. just the way she speaks, her underestimated intelligence, and her classic, undeniable beauty.

Marilyn Monroe.. so completely misunderstood and underrated in her time.. but what a wonderful woman.

  • he wants to like eat her alive rofl

  • As if Arthur MIller could have loved her for anything more than a vagina.

  • hahahahahaha Typical woman runs of with a new man a week later!

  • I almost wish that I could have lived in this period of time, and heard what she sounded like, seen what she looked like. At least I have wikipedia?

  • I don't like this interviewer, either. Marilyn was more complex than many men knew how to deal with. Too many tried to put her in her place, into a 1-dimensional role that would make them feel safer & in control. Treat her like a sex kitten, or like a child, or like a dumb blonde. But don't treat her w/respect or allow her too much power. She was so powerful in her beauty & sexuality that those around her couldn't deal w/her having anything other than that, including probs. Very sad.

  • How heartbroken she looks at the divorce announcemt. That's not an act. She talks about liking to play house where she could set her own boundaries. Sounds like someone whose boundaries weren't clear as a child or had been invaded. She says 2x she's not paranoid-prob when she would stand up to the studio, she would be rebuffed by "Oh stop being paranoid". And, I know a few adults w/ADHD/OCD who never can be on time. Don't know if she was but being habitually late isn't always arrogance or drugs.

  • And regarding her being late...she was absolutely tight to not set foot on set until SHE was ready. Thanks to her doing that we got her best work. As director Billy WIlder said " I would rather have Marilyn late on set than any other actress on time". Damn right.

  • The same time she was such a "problem" missing all those days of work...Elizabeth Taylor was missing weeks of work being drunk, f*cking, & blowing married Richard Burton. The studio not only backed her but hey had to sell the bak lot to be able to pay for that clunker Cleopatra. Marilyn got the last laugh because even though the studios and others tried to crush her soul....it ultimately lives on.

  • So sad... Such a great person with a wonderful heart.

  • i really on't understand why she was such an icon.... confuses me.

  • @dancesonpoles Simple, she was known for here extreme beauty and sex appeal. This has been going on since the the dawining of mankind and always will be.

  • @catsonghit Um, what? The beginning of man kind? She hasn't been around that long and the topic on her "extreme beauty" is a matter of opinion. I know many people, myself included who do not consider that "extreme beauty." Doesn't make it right or wrong. I personally think she is over rated and have seen and know many women who are far more beautiful and yet they are under rated.

  • @catsonghit You are absolutely correct, it's a matter of an opinion. Well, I guess millions of others felt she was beautiful and her career was a success for a reason. As for the dawning of man kind statement; I meant women have been famous because of their beauty and sex appeal for many. She's still talked about today and some of todays younger stars try and be like her. When you stated that you were so confused why she was such an icon, I tried to help; that's all.

  • @catsonghit ur replying to urself and he didnt mean she has since the begining of time the world has been known to like sex appeal and she was and still is the # 1 bombshell..ya get it..so much so she was given pills and became an alcoholic cos of being molested and not having a stable parent..ever.her mom was commited and she prob was a lil crazy needed help with her past but they didnt care they wanted her to work to make them money and paid her in bus change

  • 17 *

  • Someone says she's murdered, some says she had been taking sleeping peels since she's 1, some says she suicide.... So... How she died?

  • Shes so ditsy nd cute lol I love her rip!!!

  • I wish she could see how loved she is now<3

  • she probably need a loyal friend ,someone who can help her .. i wonder what she would of been like if she was still alive today .. lol

  • the guy narrating is kind of a dick. He makes her sound like some crazy woman with tons of problems. idgi.

  • @ahmazingperson96 she did have a lot of problems but the drugs compounded them.

  • im not suprised she got annoyed at that question i feel hes so disrespectful towards marilyn

  • She had* a lot of guts. haha

  • She a lot of guts.

  • I really don't like the interviewer he seems ....idk something about him

  • "I don't 'crank' anything; I'm not a Model T."

    Awesome.

  • Oh my god..she's so beautiful...a very lovely voice too..

  • Just goes to show, it doesn't matter how rich, beautiful & successful you are, all those things don't bring happiness. Rip marilyn, such an amazing woman, taken too soon xox

  • i just love how classy she is....she never had to give too much flesh away to get attention..its what people nowadays should remember...great role model for people my age :)

  • @iadoremichaeljacko LOL did you see the "Happy Birthday mr. President" tape?

  • @iadoremichaeljacko that was the 1950's-60's though....and for that time period...it was slutty...im sorry but that is what made her famous...her body, face, and provocative outfits...i mean i like her...but lets be real here

  • @lovinbee09

I suppose you have a point.....It wasn't untill a few nights ago when I watched a documentery and realised she wasn't perfect.....

  • @iadoremichaeljacko You do know she slept around a lot and being a bit "loose" was the reason she was able to get so far...

  • @iadoremichaeljacko

Well actually... for her time... she gave away a hell of a thought of flesh lol being the first celeb in Playboy.

  • watch?v=pi_xjmfoop0...Judy Garland and Marilyn Monroe could've been best friends.

  • Hollywood ruined a lot of people back in those days. Marilyn was the unfortunate victim of that.

  • @sharmadd 100% agreed i think she and judy had still so much more to offer.

  • @sharmadd She was pretty much ruined before she went to hollywood but hollywood probably made it worse.

  • She had to be smart to make it that far

  • @beautyisacurse1 you don't have to be smart to make it far

  • @hppc116 This explains why you're a dumb ass. And yes lil bitch you do have to be smart to make it that far. Looks can only get y

  • @hppc116 ou so far

  • The Problem was NO ONE SHOWED MARILYN OR Norma Jeane Mortenson that she was worth anything till she died! It was a up hill struggle from day one all because she was so beautiful. Her own aunt kicked her out because her uncle made a move on her what a bitch! she was only 15ish

  • She was nuts. She could barely carry herself in the real world. She seemed to have Histrionic Personality Disorder. It's sad to see an attractive and basically nice woman be so severely compromised.

  • R.I.P Marilyn, we love you

  • R.I.P Marlyn Monroe

  • i love marilyn i am only 13 and in a year i was obbsesed with her and know i know heaps

  • why did marilyn have to make her divorce a public thing? i feel bad for her :(

  • Marilyn was an artist...and a highly intelligent one at that.

No other actress has inhabited the "live" aspect of kinetic film imagery like she did (the only other one that came close was silent film star Clara Bow).

Just watch her in "The Prince and the Show Girl." She's magnificent...life on film.

Although her last interview is edited, she still comes across as her own unique "self." We need to hear her last words unedited to understand the real story.

  • The interviewer is uncomfortably close.

  • Beautiful woman here great actress of her time

  • her story and life reminds me of judy garlands.

  • Wow, my heart breaks for her, Judy Garland, Shirley Temple, and the lot of actresses and actors who have been objectified by the film industry, Hollywood, the North American Entertainment Consumers, and people who don't truly know what acting, entertainment, or living out your dream really means. Marilyn Monroe was obvious an artist or peculiarity, poise, and purpose.

  • shes so gorgeous! who is she cuz i was not born back in those days,i always hear from her, someone please tell me who was she? i wish artist of today would be pretty as her+++++++++++++

  • So if theres 8 hours of audio here why is there just 20minutes? Could of just published the full interview. I doubt Marilyn would do 8 hours of an interview for it to be edited and shaped this way within 20 minutes. Should of just put it all here/ No we'll never know. I wonder what else she said fr the 7 hour/40minutes on the record.

  • just read the marilyn monroe bio from donald spoto Marilyn was accidently murdered by Ralph Greenson and Eunice Murray who then covered it up, tragic

  • RIP, Marilyn. 49 years today. 6/1/1926-8/5/1962. i'm only 30, but i respect human life that's passed on.

  • was this interview conducted underwater?

  • I hate so much the way she was screwed. Being only paid $500 a week, Hell, when she started out they only paid her $75 a week. Those bastards screwed her over, time and time again. I just wish she could have lived long enough to see how loved and well received she would come to be.

  • @TheManda1085 She would not have been so welled received if she didn't die. She would have either ended up being considered a star who dwindled away and ruined her career over sleeping pills or she would have been a recovered drug addict whose star burned out. Either way. She's a legend because she died when she did.

  • This guy was a dick!!!!!! >:[

  • wish*

  • I really wished there were subtitles.

  • "But please don't make me look like a joke" ....Don't worry Marilyn you were not a joke at all.

  • I believe that she didn't commit suicide at all. I think that it was the Kennedy's that had to do with her death because she wqas involved with them on intimet levels and knew alot of the family that she shouldn't have.

  • I think it was a mistake by those pills.Poor marilyn.

  • That was sad...I guess she knows, now, that alot of people loved her, fell in love with her, and wanted to be like her....except for the self distruction......I hope.

  • last few words so sad

  • Screwing Kennedy huh?

  • she has a bad little temper doesn't she.

  • and you could never find a woman like her nowadays.. ever :\

  • @rebelDean550

She was mentally unstable. I thought that she was murdered too but I did more investigating and it turns out she did commit suicide. Kennedy was only covering up and paper trails she might have documented when they talked. He did not kill her.

  • Her smile is absolutely stunning <3

  • MARILYN MONROE WAS MURDER AND THAT KENNEDY GOT AWAY WITH IT.THEY SHOULD REOPEN THE CASE.R.I.P MARILYN:)

  • After watching these I suddenly realized that poor Norma Jean was truly mentally ill. Possibly bi-polar or slightly shizophrenic--she sounds absolutely like someone who in this day and age would be in therapy and probably on medication. It is unfortunate that people interpreted her behavior in the lens of normal behavior because it is painfully obvious that her personality was splintered. She needed what we can offer now--genuine therapy and medication.

  • @cyberlioness I apologize for repeating myself but it's documented she did suffer from manic depression or bipolar as we know it today...There's a series on here I think it's called The Final Days of Marilyn Monroe...where directors, fellow actors...all knew of her mental illness. During the filming of Something's Got to Give her psychotherapist had to accompany her when she went. I never thought it was such a strange idea that she would take her own life...impulsivity is common during mania

  • After watching these I suddenly realized that poor Norma Jean was truly mentally ill. Possibly bi-polar or slightly shizonphrenic--she sounds absolutely like someone who in this day and age would be in therapy and probably on medication. It is unfortunate that people interpreted her behavior in the lens of normal behavior because it is painfully obvious that her personality was splintered. She needed what we can offer now--genuine therapy and medication.

  • @cyberlioness she definitely wasn't completely stable but i don't know if she was that bad. i think a lot of her eccentric comments were just honest and spontaneous. she spoke like she didnt give a shit.

  • @nubtuberable Although she wasn't schizophrenic like her mother, it's been documented numerous times of her struggle with what is now called bipolar rather than the term used back then manic depression which I think is a better word for this mood disorder. At this point I'm starting to think 90% of Hollywood has it..I'm sure her start in life wasn't helpful either...

  • @AC6773 Dear look at the slides, of creative and incredible people that are bi-polar.... Just type it ass hole

  • When i die i would love to see her, I've got so many questions i would love to ask. i love her so much, she amazing words can't express how great she is. She's the most famous and influential person in the world. x

  • I don't thinks whe was dumb, sure maybe she wasn't book smart but you can't be as funny as her and be dumb at the same time.

  • @PeaceNdLovee That's why I like this particular interview...although it keeps freezing up on me...although she was drinking throughout the day she appears more real here...she's made some great quotes...

  • I love Marilyn she so pretty and funny like me!!

  • I don't understand how someone could kill a woman so sweet. she was so beautiful inside and out. It's like killing bamby. I get teary eyed thinking of her last hours.

  • @TheMarkieJay It is sad...in the beginning of this interview when they describe her house and how empty it was...well look where her body was found...just a bed and nightstand...Somthing always struck me funny about the housekeeper....there's a very short maybe20 second clip of the housekeeper visiting MM mother in the mental facility she lived....although short...the clip was just creepy to me...

  • @AC6773 Hi what is that clip called?

  • I DON'T CRANK ANYTHING HAHAHAH LOL

  • I cant listen to this without getting tears in my eyes, you hear the pain and struggle in her voice at times I am 17 years old and the person I admire most is Marilyn Monroe she never gave up no matter what life threw at her I would have loved to have known her <3 RIP Marilyn Monroe <3

  • all her life she soooo desperately wanted to be loved not a joke but what any human wants

  • If u look closely da bottom left it says tlc

  • Poor woman God she suffered on this earth

  • her laugh is the best <33

  • As far as I know, with "Something's Got to Give," she really was sick. It's nice to hear her real voice as opposed to the breathy voice she used in her films. She comes across as vulnerable, full of laughter, sad, angry, complicated, sweet, betrayed, innocent, and worldly, all at the same time. How I wish I could have known her personally.

  • & her laugh haha =)

  • i wish i couldve met her =/

  • The interviewer is Richard Meryman and what an honor it must have been to be there in the first place to see her and take this unknowing that she would die a short time later..so sad.

  • I don't care what anybody says I love Marilyn! Sure, she wasn't perfect and was obviously a mentally sick person, but who's perfect? Two cheers for Marilyn.

  • Her whole life was so ridiculously tragic it is pathetic =(

  • Well, for me, I think Marilyn Monroe is smart. People just didn't give her a chance.

  • @ami7mina yes, she was bright. she just went through a lot as a child so she was kind of neurotic. not not a dummy at all. her quotes inspire me

  • Listening to her makes me so sad. When most people hear "Marilyn Monroe" they think of that "dumb blonde actress from the 50's" or something along those lines, but it couldn't be further from the truth. She was so much more complex and intelligent, and when I listen to her I can just hear her pain in her voice. All she wanted her whole life was to be truly loved and cared by someone. Anyone. It's just extremely tragic. =/

  • Love you Marilyn

  • Oh my, She's beautiful <3

  • She asked one thing of him. To not make her a joke, yet he still disrespected her. What a jerk! I just recently finished her Bio my story. A great read for her fans.

  • @me2u16

a really good one is The Secret Life of Marilyn Monroe by J. Randy Taraborrelli..im readin it at the moment and its really good...it really does make you understand her background and everything...

  • @joyster448 i agree. that, and the book 'fragments' gives quite a lot of insight into her life and how she might've been feeling. j randy taraborrelli's book is quite amazing though. i read it in 2 days and couldn't put it down. and he makes such a great emphasis on how beautiful she was. it gave me the shivers.

  • @ClaraCastillo

i cant find that book anywhere and im dyin to get it

  • @joyster448 what fragments? well you could try play dot com. i'm sure they have it. i found it at one of the top bookshops where i live but they only had one copy. i was lucky to get it. but it is a great book to have.

  • @ClaraCastillo

i might have a look on the easons website to see if they have it thanks anyway :)

  • even in the mess she was in, she's very articulate and speaks deeply philosophical truths

  • @xxTheRedDiAMonDxx If she would read your comment, she would be proud of you! She's the nr. 1 inspiration for so many women who are envied for their beauty and brains. I wish she knew how important she has become for generations of women wanting to succeed in showbiz. :-)

  • She tried to call for help through this interview but no one listened.....No one.....

  • oh god happy birthday was sooo ssexy ;)

  • @sebway23 She was very obviously high.

  • @Boobalopbop So what, she's still sexy as fuck

  • She is an idol. She shouldn't be judged for how little clothes she wore as it was obviously a tactic for attention, it worked didn't it? Many celebrities use the shock tactic for fame nowday's. She was classy and the affair, do you know much about it? No, because you'r not Marilyn. Maybe she fell in love? As I believe that's how she died. She was a wise woman as you can tell by some of the things she says but also naive for letting people manipulate her. She was beautiful inside and out.

    Rip!x

  • Comment removed

  • why was she crying like 50seconds in?

  • @bke77103 She was announcing her divorce from Joe Dimaggio.

  • Woman like MM & Judy Garland were treated like commodities, MM for her body and beauty and Judy Garland for her amazing voice and the way she had with a song. The Men in Hollywood were sharks & they smelled blood in the water & devoured Women who were vulnerable in Hollywood who were the most famous & bread winners in their relationships. People think that is an invitiation to help themselves to these women. That's the reason they are no longer with us & died so young. PPL can only take so much.

  • @NFitalianGuy i know, i did research on her history, growing up and relationships and i can't get over how almost all of the men in her life treated her. she never got a break. it wasn't just the hollywood men, the men in her childhood, the sexual abuse she took. then after she died, dougherty, her first husband, published a book telling a BS version of events. according to him, she thought the sun shone out of his arse. as if. her life is just proof beautiful women are abused too often.

  • I want the full tape, unedited, in original order, rather than this man's "arrangement" out of context, in attempts to correspond her words to his opinion. He deliberately makes her out to be crazy. Marilyn Monroe was not crazy. This guy turned out to be an ass-hole. She wouldn't have granted this interview, had she known he would just be condescending.

  • @morgthuugg225 Then you can't call Audrey Hepburn, Elizabeth Taylor, & Ava Gardner "classy" either. They all had affairs with married men. When you're young, beautiful, & famous in Hollywood, there's a lot of temptation. Yes, they made mistakes. They were fallible human beings. Stop being so sanctimonious.

  • It was obvious she was evolving as a person.Really too bad she couldn't have held out for the late 60's when she could have broken free of that sexist stereotype. Can you imagine her as Martha in Who's afraid of Virginia Wolfe?Oh, the possibilities.

  • In 1962 saying "crank yourself up", would be like saying "rev your engines or jack yourself up" today, kinda harsh. I only drink during stressful times. I think it's great that Marilyn drank champagne when she did drink. Why suffer? Also c'mon, she was a child during the depression, to parents that split up just after her birth, sending her mother into a tailspin. The Industry WAS an Asshole. No one would put up with such crap today. There'd be punched faces all over the place. $500/week? Smack!

  • WHy doesnt she have a life movie?Or an updated "eHollywood"?

  • @bristay1 ive seen a movie on her

  • This is reference example of commercialism, vulgar plagiarism of a human, esp. actors as seen starting 20th century. Listen to her at 3:00 onwards..... she was an artist. If her persona attracted and her personality was a draw, men in higher places, in her life abused it. And she was alone, no family, no siblings, no guiding hand. But, she is to blame as well, escapism in form of prescription drugs and alcoholism..... Sad, sad.

The thing is she still comes across as classy.
