Michael Martin Murphy came to town and played with our orchestra. He was doing songs from a new album, but during the rehearsals, I begged him to do this song. He declined, but he was happy to hear how much I liked the song.
At the time I didn't know that he didn't write it, and I was surprised and delighted to discover that Paul had written it.
when i hear songs like this by Paul, it reminds me how much my family loves and cares for me and how close we were and are. i am blessed to have such a family and blessed that Paul Overstreet can bring those feelings back, even though ive grown up and have a family of my own.

As accomplished a songwriter as Overstreet is, it's sad that he's been overlooked as a singer and artist. I think he's really good. I'm not a country fan by any stretch of the imagination, but this is great stuff.
