  • Thanks for posting this vid! I was in fourth grade when this ran on the air.

Carol hosted the first season of the revamped People's Court with Koch. Harvey Levin took over hosting duties since the second season.

    Michele Marsh = awesomeness!

  • @blazette Actually, Harvey Levin had always co-hosted the series with Carol Martin since the very first season, having been involved with the Joseph Wapner version as a legal consultant.

  • @pooka5472

Thanks for letting me know. Now I remember that he used to host at the same time as Carol. I didn't know he used to appear during the Wapner days as I was a small child back then. ;)

  • was the the same Michelle Marsh who was on WNBC 4? cause if it, it doesn't look anything like her!

  • It was indeed Ms. Marsh - who went to WNBC after being fired from WCBS as part of the infamous October 1996 massacre.

  • Rolland Smith was the man. Jensen went to pot (no pun intended) when Rolland left in 86

  • what happened to Carol?

  • Wow, I remember seeing this on the satellite one night while working in Memphis. It's one of my favorite news opens. I think this is more circa 1990.

  • Actually, TVArkGreg is right, the L3 for Channel 2 News at 11:00 was part of the short lived gfx package from 1992.

Btw: this package was used from May 1989 to January 1992.

  • Well, I remember seeing this open on WCBS back in 1990. But you're right that this clip is from 1992. In the shot of the big check at the beginning of this clip, the check is dated Jan. 1992.

  • Actually... this might be from shortly before then.

At the beginning, note the graphics - they are pretty clearly in the 1992 style. When WCBS was using this set of opens and music, it used the L3s introduced in 1985...

  • This had to be taped prior to January 27th 1992, because that's when they introduced their short lived theme/gfx package that lasted less than a year.
