This is a very special song for me. My first wife died in a off road accident in 1984 after being married 20 years. That pain is everlasting and this song always gets to me. Still tears of hurt whenever I listen to it and I'm 65yrs old now
Almost all the posts of this song are the re-record, this is the original. I guess if you didn't live through that era, you might not know the difference...thank you for the reply.
Thank you so much for finding and sharing Thomas Wayne Perkin's soulful ballad, with the matching lyrics. I've listened to the other versions, later ones by him or others, including The Fleetwoods, and this original version edges out the The Fleetwoods by a nano.
my mistake..this is the 1959 version i remember hearing from my crib..while i was only 3yrs old..but i remember this song as a baby..didnt know who or what was making this sound lol..but i loved it..made me drift off into sleep
That's the original, and by far the best recording by Thomas Wayne and the Delons, which was in 1959 and was popular for about a year('59 & '60), then they had re-recorded that tune several years later in the 60's which doesn't sound nearly the same like the original recording. Other posted videos of that tune on here are the later re-recording by Thomas Wayne as well as a version by the Fleetwoods.
Yes..!! This is it.. I have it also.. I hope others can hear these great oldies.. before the greed of the few ruins it and removes all of 'our' music.. our history that we lived..!!
