This was the first lake I learned how to water ski on and I rode on my firt jet ski. I was shocked as hell to see this on the news now living in Florida.
my house fell in the river. This probably will never ever ever happen again on a lake. The village clogged the dam with sandbags so it forced the water back to my house. The water need to empty and are house was bulit on sand so it ate the sand up and made a gorge and it emptied out into the river. This probably will never ever happen on a lake. I lived on the lake . So don't worry.
i live in wisconsin and when i saw it on tv,i thoght that those people were dead.when i saw the road that it carred away,it looked like a new road that was just paved
I went to Wisconsin Dells for vacation when the lake was drained. We were walking on the lake and we found lots of dead fish and birds laying there. It was terrible.
It's amazing to note exactly how much water was used to fill that place. And it certainly didn't help with the already horrid flooding going on either. :(
Brought tears to my eyes watching the homes wash away...everything those people owned...photos, heirlooms, memories, possibly even live pets that were in the homes...everything gone. It breaks my heart to see this. Seeing it on the news & seeing it on this ameteur video are way different...this ameteur video gives us a view of what people standing RIGHT THERE saw & witnessed. We only live an hour from here. Our town had bad flooding but nothing like this.
i've saw it on the news but haven't watched any videos till now. that's just sad

A fool and his house will soon part... Lake Delton is a man-made tourist trap. Tommy Bartlett's is an ecological disaster.

Lake Delton is a man made lake used
by many resorts and the Tommy Bartlett
Thrill show. During Flooding in 2008 part
of County Highway A was destroyed. That
highway was Part of the Dike holding
that water in.

This video was shot by Phillip White in Wisconsin Dells. He has the original footage. This video was recorded off the news.
