  • Andy has the raddest hands in the land

  • Andy you do love your tele's

  • I wish I could play country like Andy. And every other style for that matter

  • What OD is Andy using at the beginning to get that "Keef" tone?

  • sounds like hes plying gimme three steps by lynyrd sknyrd at the start cool

  • @shredmaster100

no dude he tries "all down the line" by the Stones

  • what tele is best for radiohead besides the plus?

  • Where and how can I get one of theres "overwound" nocaster pickup??

  • @lui505 it's mexiCAN

  • I would really like to buy this guitar! Gosh.....

  • What's the name of the song in the neck pickup section? Starts at 2:40

  • @dlheidemann It's one of Bob Dylans finest celled "Stuck Inside of Mobile with the Memphis Blues Again" from Blonde on Blonde!

  • that is bad. ass.

  • is mexican made or american ?

  • hey andy, fender just released the American Vintage 72 Tele. exactly like this one but for the mainstream market. It would be much appreciated if you can review it.

    Thanks!

  • Excellent playing man! Just one question though, was the tone on the neck pickup rolled off at all?

  • All down the line

  • are you runing the tele right in to the tweed?

  • how does the bridge pickup handle a good crunch like tone?? i've been looking for a guitar that can get a good Joe Walsh, Eagles like tone... do you think this guitar would be a good choice?

  • x']

  • Nice finger-picking!

  • Still sounds kinda thin compared to a Gibson burstbucker. Neck position sounds kinda muddy. No thanks.

  • All Down The Line...nice.

  • This guy's a one-man-band. Brilliant.

  • Hey what's the song at approximately 2:00?

    great guitar and playing

  • @frenzexperiment Sounds like "Dead Flowers" off Sticky Fingers by the Rolling Stones to me. This model and color of guitar id closely associated with Keith Richards.

  • whats the song you were playing in the neck position ?

  • @iConverseMyLife "Stuck Inside Of Mobile With The Memphis Blues Again" Bob Dylan, 1966.

  • @NightGallery thank you :)

  • Andy is does this custom shop version have a proper cunife magnet wide range humbucker or is it the same dreadful one as in the Mexican version?

  • All Down The Line by the Rolling Stones at the beginning. Great!

  • @moucon

Vintage Telecasters have a 7.25 inch neck radius. 9.5 is 'flatter' than that.

  • Man, that thing has some serious sustain

  • why isn't andy in the rolling stone greatest guitar players of all time list? lol!

  • Mine looks exactly like it except it has two humbuckers and no silver plate to the bridge. Also on the headstock it just says Telecaster Custom. Any idea which model it is?

  • @IbanezShredderMan

Tele deluxe '72 has the 2 wide range humbuckers stock. The Tele Custome '72 has the single coil in the bridge.

  • @IbanezShredderMan

Tele deluxe '72 has the 2 wide range humbuckers stock. The Tele Custom '72 has the single coil in the bridge.

  • this guitar looks great. I've scouted out many reviews online and the verdict is it rocks. I'm most likely going to be purchasing one this week. Doesn't seem worth it forking out several hundreds of dollars more to get a standard USA one. From what I can tell this guitar has great versatility which is exactly what I'm looking for. I hope I'm right!

  • is this humbacker the same mounted on the mexican one?

  • i just wish they made this with rosewood

  • @joed424 the roadworn version offers one with a rosewood fretboard. I have one!

  • i want this one :)..this one or the SG lol

  • Pretty guitar, mabye my next one. What does he play at 2:14 to 2:28 ? It's a song or just impro?

  • @flokurt It was bugging me too.. Cowboy Song--Thin Lizzy

  • @flokurt Cowboy Song--Thin Lizzy

    im pretty sure

  • i played one of these before. these are a real dream!! lol

a telecaster the way i like it, sweet neck and bridge pickups :)

  • Hi, just wondering.. I've been scouting for this particular Tele custom guitar. Is it true that these models are only Mexican made?

  • I want that tele sooooo bad =(

  • Hey, is this 72 custom different from the one on Fender's site? Because according their site the body is alder not ash? Just wondering if you could let me know. Thanks

  • @egamadtra - Yep, this one' s a Custom Shop, rather than a production model...one-of-a-kind. Thanks!

    -PGS

  • @ProGuitarShopDemos - You play, beautifully!

starting at 2:40...what song is that from, or is that your own riff?

    love it

  • @novanine9 hi, it's bob dylan - stuck inside of mobile!

  • What was the song he played at 2.00? :)

  • I think it's safe for me to say that I have a love/hate affair with Tele's. One minute I love everything about them and the next I think they're totally crap. I think my moodswings have finally calmed down cause I'm thinking about getting a second Tele but yet a bit different... Offcourse I don't have a "customshop" budget but this sounds nice... I deffinatly have to try the mexican made (budgetfriendly) version of it when I see it.

  • make this guitar but made in mexico or not custom shop with two humbucker?

  • @TheKeefguitar They do make the 2 humbucker version of this in mexico. The 2 humbucker model is called the 72 deluxe and it has the big 70's style Strat headstock instead of the normal Tele headstock..

  • make this guitar made in mexico with 2 humbucker

  • wats better a fender telecaster or a strat?

  • I'm getting a 72 Tele Custom soon.. As soon as my wife allows me to buy it. :] It just sounds so incredible.. That tone is fantastic

  • neck pickup sound made me cry

  • not many people can make a single coil not sound like garbage, good job mate :)

  • whoops ment single coil with distortion, not clean

  • @sydfan14 Bullshit... what a rubbish comment.

  • is this the road worn series?

  • does andy ever use a pick?

  • Why don't I sound this good when I play the same guitar????? This has got to be one of my favorite Fender's I own. Andy as always provides outstanding demo's for PGS and always makes me realize I need to practice a whole lot more.:) Thanks for the demos and agree this is a Great guitar for Blues which is why I bought this model.

  • it seems to be the best combination: Fender Tele Custom+Fender Twin Amp

  • Hot

  • And dont forget the ancient outdated bridge. Keith Richards, eat your heart out.

  • @RobbyBobbins do you know if they are good for krankin it up abit with like distortion n stuff? cause i sorta play blues but i like to pull out the dist once and a while or sometimes ill mess around with my wah to give a little funky tune to whatever im playing

  • Wow! This is one of my dream guitars!!! Thanks for demo!

  • great review andy, big ups as usual. however i would have loved to see how it sounds playing some full on distortion and big chords. i know its not traditionally a 'heavy' guitar but i see alot of bands like mogwai, etc. wouldve been nice is all...

  • what the song at 2:00?

  • @cars463 it sounds like it might be Queen's "You And I"

  • @cars463 The chord progression sounds similar to Queen's "You And I."

  • I have a friend who owns a 72 telecaster and it's one of the best vintage guitar I've ever played. If this reissue is anything like the original i'm sure it's a joy to play

  • you should have concluded the demo by setting it on fire like Hendrix

  • I want one!!!!! NOW!!! I just ain't got $3-4k though.

Andy as always great chops. peace. J.J.B.

  • I follow ProGuitarShopDemos for two things 1. Listen Andy play guitar 2. Good fu@#king Awasome products. XD

  • good work , good work.. Andy's playing is blessed from above..

  • are telecasters pretty good for blues? cause im gettin a new guitar soon and its probably gonna be a telecaster or another stratocaster. i already got a blue mexican strat fender

  • @xXBlinDXx12 Tele good for blues? Check out Roy Buchanan or Albert Collins ;)

  • @ProGuitarShopDemos What amps do u guys use on a regular basis.

  • @xXBlinDXx12 telecasters are amazing for blues :P muddy waters used one ... amoungst hundereds of other prolific gutiarists

  • @xXBlinDXx12 you can never go wrong with a tele man

  • @xXBlinDXx12 telecasters good for blues haha yes they are amazing for blues !

  • @xXBlinDXx12 Yeah, listen to Chicago Smokeshop and the Messiah Will Come Again by Roy

  • I'm normally a gibson fan but I want one of these

  • Nice music Andy. Nice guitar too.

  • That's a sexy guitar.

  • The only man that has made me piss my pants with a Fender is Yngwie Malmsteen... I fucking hate their distorted sound (their clean sound is beautiful though), but Yngwie make them sound unique and amazing

  • @mturquie youve gotta be kidding me.. have you not heard jimi hendrix? david gilmour? jimmy freakin page?? clapton?? jeff beck? and so many more..

  • Ive got an 1980 tele custom with Rosewood finger board and the Six bridge tailpeice, it sounds a lot thicker than this, so i would like one of these please! ;)

  • such beautiful tone at the intro...

    DRRI cranked amp-wise?

  • i really wish andy would list the songs he plays in the descriptions, cuz it would only take a minute and i would watch ALL of these videos. maybe some favoriting too...

  • Hey guy, love the vids. Question: are you playing with a pick at all or just finger nails? Obviously you're nails are grown out some if you're not using a pick. Just curious. Wondered how you got some sounds based on how your hands were moving. Thanks

  • @hughman174 Andy almost never appears using a pick, I remember a couple videos though..

  • I really like your version of "stuck in mobile with the memphis blues again."

  • has anyone ever seen a tele custom in red with a white pick guard? just wondering because i think it would look DAMN SEXY!!!!!!!

  • That is the BEST vintage split I've EVER heard!! gimmie lol

  • Andy do you have a band, or are you secretly Buckethead, or something? You always are such a joy to listen to!

  • @Goth3m3 Buckethead can't play have the stuff Andy tackles on these vids.

  • @Goth3m3 secretly buckethead... O.o

    LOL. :DD

  • @Goth3m3 I thought the same! He does nothing too special or fancy but he does something which can't be described... he's just awesome!

  • AWESOME !!!!

  • ALL DOWN THE LIIIIINE! Andy always plays cool riffs

  • WHAT a beauty!

  • What a great guitar!

What do You think about video where You'll use that fantastic guitar and Jetter Helium, to make a great Rolling Stones staff. I'll be gald, if You try do it!

    Greetings from Poland

    P.S Sory for my english

  • that's it, I want one!

  • awesome! shame fender didn't put on compensated saddles though.

  • great tone!

  • awesome guitar

  • is the neck pickup a remake of the original 'wide range' humbucker? or is it the same pickup as in the reissue - a normal humbucker in the bigger wide range casing. Its probably the latter as it sounds pretty similar to my 72 deluxe reissue

  • whats the song called at 2:44 ?

  • @GoliathMay It's Bob Dylan's Stuck Inside of Mobile with the Memphis Blues Again

  • @6stringsteve wow youre absolutely right! i mean ive heard that song a lot and ive never heard this awesome guitar piece :D

  • Telecasters will always have a special place in the world of guitars.

  • I kinda wish Fender would make their guitars a little prettier i mean they sound great but at times I kinda hate the look of their guitars. But that's just me.

  • hey... i have that exact same guitar... same color and everything... MIM though...

  • Great intro. I love that sound

  • Fender never produced a stock neck radius tighter than 9.5" did they? Just wondering what this radius is "flatter" than ? Nice sounds from Andy - actually way better than the original. I played one of the original '72s in '75-ish and it was genuinely terrible. Neither pickup sounded good and the intonation stunk thanks to sloppy workmanship. The early '70s were not good for Fenders. Had to reset the neck or bridge on several guitars to fix intonation.

  • @moucon 50's Tele's were 7.25" radius.Thanks,

    PGS Crew

  • @ProGuitarShopDemos kewl.. I stand surprized !

  • @moucon There are a few that are 12" The Eric Johnson Strat comes to mind.

  • that song at 2:50 was awesome

  • what is that last song?

  • is that a fender blues deluxe reissue you're playing through there?

  • @ConorCoughlanMusic

It looks like a 57' Twin.

  • That opening clip reminded just HOW MUCH I need a Tele. I just wish they still did these and the Deluxes in walnut like they did a few years back ...

  • @WeezerFan666 They make the Tele Deluxe '72 reissues in walnut. I have one in black. Unless you're talking only the Custom Shop ones...

  • @fender412 Huh, my mistake. I guess I meant just the Custom then, as I'd love to hold onto the Tele bridge pup

  • A little Exile in tribute to the newly released masters?

  • Bad ASS tele!

  • I really wish i could fingerpick as well as Andy...

  • Andy, what's your favorite Tele?

  • Iv never really been a fan of the 72's but still nice a guitar

  • Nice playing Andy. All these videos are doing wonders for chops.

  • &fmt=22

helps so looks to be youtube stuff ...

  • Excellent version of Stuck in Side of Mobile...damn that's a long title.

  • what happened to the video quality, sound still seems good, is it some new youtube compression thing?

  • I love telecasters! this one sounds great!

  • I love teles...

  • sounds good
