  • And so Pocahontas ran North for an entire 4 miles before questioning her direction.

Meanwhile, 2 miles southwest, John Smith was killed without her interference.

  • This song has a lot of truth. Disney back then had the balls to make strong political and social statements.

  • Fox News version below:

  • What can you expect? From filthy little HEATHENS! This is what you GET when religions are DIVERSE! Their whole disgusting faith is like a CURSE. Their skins a hellish red, theyre only good when dead, theyre vermin as I said, and WORSE!

    TERRORISTS TERRORISTS

    Barely even human

    TERRORISTS TERRORISTS

Drive them from their shore! Theyre not like you and me, which means they must be evil, we must sound the drums of war!

    Theyre TERRORISTS TERRORISTS

Dirty arab devils! Now we sound the drums of war

  • @LordOrlock exactly what Bush said when the war started in 2003. Good job.

  • back then when disney movies could get away from cussing

  • Comment removed

  • Back when Disney could actually make good movies. REAL art, not that computer animated bull shit

  • @LordoftheKaty oooh!! so you are a Disney lover/pixar hater person like me!!! yay!! its not that i hate pixar either i just love the cartoon drawings instead of the sharper animations : ) its like metal versus wood, wood is happier and friendlier, metal is cold and heartless... you know what im saying : /

  • @RobinHoodinSherwood The animation shouldn't matter, the plots and the character development should. And I'd say Pixar has done a pretty awesome job for the most part.

  • @FlyFree4evr what are you implying "the animation shouldnt matter" im just saying i like dinsey catoons better than pixar, obviously the plots and characters matter also, and its all of those things which make me PERSONALLY like Disney better, pixar has done a "pretty awesome job" i just happen to like what Disney has done better than what pixar has

  • @RobinHoodinSherwood Amen man. Pixar movies are usually just like.. Toy Story. Fun movies, yeah, but not awe inspiring like Hunchback, Pocahontas and others.

  • @LordOrlock thank you!!! couldnt have said it better myself : )

  • The second part of this song gives me chills

  • This was my first taste of the "us and them" mentality of extremists and how they never realize when they're as bad as each other and demonstrate the same flaws as the enemies they identify.

Now I have the internet I can observe the same thing every five seconds :D

  • I love how, even in an intense moment, John still has a second to flip his hair. Glamorous!

  • avatar

  • Holy crap...

this song.... I have been listening to it my entire life

I knew how amazing it was

but I feel like my eyes have just been opened

This song goes beyond words, I am proud to have grown up with this, the messages in it are so deep, I am awed : 0

  • "hollywood insiders couldn't be trusted!"

This is why I love transcribed audio on youtube XD

  • that chick was bookin! haha!

  • "How loud are the drums of war?" It's scary how loud they are.

  • I love this song because it shows how ppl were like back in the day, where they were calling each savages based on the color. Love it.

  • @Bugie78 Uh. We still do it. Look how the modern media portrays Muslims. And how the Muslims view us, as well.

200 years and nothing has changed. Societies are still divided along ethnic, racial, and most importantly, cultural lines.

  • @LordOrlock Yeah, but we are not finding any knew land called america. Which that is what this song is also about

  • I don't know if anyone has tried the caption option that translate the audio, it's pretty funny how Google audio translates this video xDD

  • what makes it sad is that this is what people actually thought centuries ago :/

  • This clip summorizes why the Disney films of old are far superior to those of today. Music, morals, story. I'm grateful I grew up with these films.

  • @Bacarah yeah the only problem is this movie kinda sucked.

  • @Allistar123 So, what was the problem with this?

  • @Bacarah mostly the story and characters. they were just not written strong enough. i mean this had to follow up the lion king so it had some pretty big expectations. i get that they are trying to provide a powerful moral lesson but i feel their attempt to deliver said lesson overshadowed the quality of the movie.

  • @Bacarah Disney died after Mulan, for some reason... Must have been smaller budgets? Or just shittier management.

  • @LordOrlock Tangled was good, but you are right, pretty much they died : (

  • we watched this in my savages to see who were the savages, the english were because the natives has BEAUTIFUL voices

  • My ppl are not even wat the wite ppl said they were talkin shit through their mouths!!!!! but great movie

  • @RedLakeNation2009

... I think shit comes through someones ass you know? XD

  • this song is THE only memorable thing about the movie...and the colors...and somethings...danm this movie ROCKS ^^

  • @toruforevamente

I'm torn between ignoring your comment for the sake of my blood pressure and mental health and using the worst swear words I know so you'll learn to never again insult Pocahontas. You ... scallywag, you!

  • I think this song is the only thing I really liked about the film.

Sorry if anyone thinks different, but that's just me.

  • I couldn't run that fast if a bear was chasing me...

  • 12 people, - savages

  • her dad is right.white settlers just too greedy and their devils.in real life Pocahontas was only 13 and hell she didn't even love john smith.why did Disney wanna make it like if the settlers and natives were nice to each other?

  • @hubhikariyoshi150 oh god not this again....

  • @hubhikariyoshi150

because they wanted to convey a very simple message and this was a good way to do it. that message being don't be a damn racist.

  • @hubhikariyoshi150 Well, Disney is known to change the story:

Ariel died after her prince fell for the wrong one

Cinderella's step sisters cut parts of their feet of, trying to fit the shoe

Sleeping Beauty got raped in her sleep and bore two kids in HER SLEEP

Snow White's Step Mother died after wearing heated iron boots

Esmeralda got raped by Phoebus and she did get executed, oh and Quasi died short after her

Sure, makes you wonder why Disney changed it(!)

  • Best one ive seen for this entire scene. Thanks :)

  • Is it wrong to say that i find this song catchy?

  • Oh the irony: The white people look red in the light.

  • I love how when she says "lost" Meeko is like LIGHTBULB!!!!!! :D

    Meeko saves the day again!

  • my father is a savage

  • This song still gives me goosebumps...

  • Still holds truth today, just change the natives with Arabs and Muslims, and make the whites modern American officials, the song still makes sense, pretty sad I gotta say, you would think we would have improved from this.

  • @carnagex64 American officials are still kinda white. = l

  • @Somnien Yeah I know, sorry, I just didn't really type it all well, I mean more change the english british, with american officials, but I went with general whites, since I was quite tired, so I wasn't even sure of the nationalities of the villains again, but now that Im normal again, I remember ofcourse for the time of the story, its the british lol.

  • @carnagex64 Thats cool. =]

  • pocahontas beets all of the disney girls as far as hotness thumbs up if you agree

  • This guy is..Ignorance

  • Does anyone ever think about the fact that American's made this, but the American's are the bad guys? Lol. Whatever, love Pocahontas.<3

  • This is really.. bad. I never realized how bad this actually is. Like, dang. They almost didn't pull any punches.

  • I'm currently learning about the Gold Miners in History... this is so so accurate.

  • Why are the lyrics different at the start. It's suppose to be "their whole disgusting race is like a curse" but in this video it's "this is what you get when races are diverse". I've never heard it that way.

  • @xNatalie24x it was probably toned down for disney XD

  • When I was little I was ignorant of what this song was about. Now that I'm older that is not the case. That said, I'm half white and half red... WHO THE FUCK AM I SUPPOSE TO SIDE WITH ON THIS?

  • @yogurtpimp Neither. Both sides are ignorant of the other and they are jumping to conclusions based on looks. Myself I would take Pocahontas side because I believe we are all one.

  • This part was off the hook, and what I like about it, is that it was a true event. Pocahontas father, the cheif was going to club John Smith's head to death, I mean, how gangster is that? But Pocahontas rush in and put her body over John's head to protect him. Now remember in history, Pocahontas was like 13 or whatever, and John Smith was like 24 or whatever. How cute was that?

  • Lol i always found it ironic they called them savages while forming a violent angry mob

  • @VINCEJisSONiCtheMC That's the point :D

  • @VINCEJisSONiCtheMC LOLOLOL!!

  • 0.15 IIIII have to sneeze...

  • i really do like how you see both sides calling each other savages. it shows both sides of the story, which is rare in a white film.

  • @cortezstreasure

Your kidding me right? If anything in all current movies white people are portraited as "ignorant" or "racist".

Some time ago my little brother was called "vanillia cream" by some black bully kid on school all the time, and when he finally had enough and called him "chocoate mouse", this retarded teacher then wanted to expell him. Apparently he thought that only white people could be racist and blacks were always "victims"...

    Talk about retarded eh? >.>

  • @nielsdejong For some reason I don't believe you.I'm Mexican and I have gotten in so much trouble when I said Santa wasn't real.I said that because my Jewish friend told me Santa wasn't real((I didn't believe in him anyway I was in the 2nd grade))This kid on the playground((same grade))was talking about Santa and I just said he wasnt real but its not like I meant anything by it but I got in so much trouble Why was a kid in the 2nd grade believing in Santa in the first place>:T!?!?

  • My name is Thomas, so ever since I was little I felt like a jackass for shooting Pocahontas's fiancee (I forgot his name cause its been so long)

  • @WhiteFang813 no idea how it's spelled, but it's pronounced co-co-um

  • @WhiteFang813 Kocoum. (I don't know if I spelled it correctly or not but I think that's right).

  • indians>whites

  • 1:45 - 1:58

    Freak'n chills, man. O_O'

  • it really sucks how people (like the top comment about beating the audience over the head with the message) criticize this movie. it may be redundant, but the message is a heartfelt one and the movie itself is a masterpiece in my eyes. the plot, the characters, the way its animated...you dont see animated movies like this anymore. now every animated movie is this CGI animated shit. wheres the heart in that? ill take pocahontas over despicable me anyday

  • When i was very little i wondered why they kept calling each other sandwiches.

  • @TheSamuraipat LOLOLOLOLOLOL!!!

  • @TheSamuraipat LOL that's all I can hear now :P

  • This be where racism was born. lol

  • haha Sandwitch's :D

  • this version is good but I think the French version is better

Cette version est bonne mais je pense que la version Française est mieux

  • @orihimebleach18 I agree :) french version is perfect !

  • damn shes a good runner, Usain Bolt eat your heart out.

  • So..White guy calls savages evil because they're different,

red guy says savages can't be trusted because they're different..

I can bring more understanding to the indians with those words

  • Fucking savages

  • I also yelled "NO"!!

  • Lol I can't believe this nearly brought a tear to my eye, I'm 18 damn it xD

  • Im singining this for theatre but ill make it against americans versus arabs

  • OK thatst it!!!!I'm going on a Disney Day Movie marathon!!!!

  • SANDWICHES SANDWICHES

  • @maceykate SANDWICHES, SANDWICHES

    YUMMY TASTY SANDWISHES

NOW WE SOUND THE DRUMS OF LUNCH!

  • @Lunarvx22 EXACTLY!

  • @Lunarvx22 that made my life

  • Darn, I wanted to see the fight.

  • I like the part where he says" They're skins are hellish red" not cause im racist or anything, I just like the way he says it.

  • And so Pocahontas decided to totally screw over her races only chance for survival by helping the English instead of letting the indians push them back into the ocean! :D

  • It's hard to believe that smoke clouds coming together can create lightning

  • i always loved the disney movies that asked the question who is the monster and who is the human just because it's interesting to see the characters who are different are the sweet kind characters while the self proclaimed normal humans are usually the monsters or in this case the savages! it's movies like this that are so thought provoking

  • this song is dedicated to the philippines and other asian countries

  • @09Knightmaster no it isnt, its set in north america you IDIOT

  • No offense to this beautiful movie, that I love very dearly, but in a battle with even numbers, where one side is equipped with arrows, and the other with rifles....well, I don't think it honestly would've been much of a fight.

  • @Nerdfighter21 Rifles that take a good 3-4 minutes at best to reload, in a pitched battle.

you tell me, which is more useful, a accurate bow that can fire multiple arrows fast or a musket that shoots one very inaccurate bullet every couple of minutes.

  • @Jakezing Not to burst your bubble my friend but your wrong on a few counts. First off, their not using rifles but smoothbore matchlock muskets. A rifle, has rifling in the barrel. Number two, a trained musketeer, using a matchlock, could fire two rounds a minute. Number three, in a close ranged fight, like what you would have in a forest, a musket is not that inaccurate and can even go through more then one body. The only advantage a bow as is the number of shots you can take.

  • @WolfLord5 And you have to stand up to fire a bow, not so with a matchlock musket. A musketeer can use cover more effectively then a bowman.

  • @WolfLord5 notice how i called it a musket later on.

read my friend, Read, it helps you. and final advantage of the indians : they actually know the local, unlike tyhe invaders

  • @Jakezing The shift key, it wont bite you.

Now then, the advantage of local knowledge is negated by the Europeans logging and building forts. The invaders, as we can call them, also have the advantages of armor (buff coats, steel helmets and cuirasses) and steel weapons, which beat buckskins and flint. Now then, the only really good advantage the natives had was numbers.

  • I remember cheering on simba when he fought scar.

I remember booing at Ursela when she took Arieal's voice.

I remember fighting the Huns with Mulan.

I remember the wind through my hair, running by Pocahontas.

I remember being locked in the Beast's castle.

I remember laughing and having fun with Mickey and his friends.

I don't remember watching teen drama on stupid disney channel

Copy and paste this to all your favorite Disney Videos and let's start a revolution.

    W. Disney forever.

  • Am i just imagining it or does this sound like its sped up

  • My adventure would have ended at 3.36 : /

  • SANDWICHES SANDWICHES !!

  • fantastic piece of cinema - the brilliant music, animation, voice acting ect equate to massive shivers

  • and....(4:04)SAFE!

    "NO!"

    "no?"

  • This is the only Disney song that gets my heart pounding and gives me intense chills. XD Love it.

  • this song makes me want to go march out into the streets and accomplish something!!!!!

  • Pocahontas found the Jack Sparrow's compass!

  • Is it bad that I have a huge crush on John Smith?

  • I always get goosebumps watching this haha

  • that, my friends is some catchy racism

  • @lewokdruid racism in a nutshell

  • My heart melts @3:49

  • Sandwiches, sandwiches, good with peanut butter

Sandwiches, sandwiches, and a smattering of jam

They're made by you and me, which means they must be yummy

    We must wolf them down!

  • haha Pocahontas's compass was stolen by Captain Jack Sparrow.

  • Comment removed

  • You know what's the difference between Pocahontas and Avatar?

Pocahontas had a great musical score; Avatar had silly blue people.

  • I don't care for John Rolfe, and I don't particularly care for John Smith... but why on EARTH did Pocahontas give up Kocuom?? i mean talk about a hottie. =P I cry my eyes out every time he gets shot by thomas. =(

  • @jmk0991 LOL I love that

  • Powerful scene is powerful.

  • Sammiches, Sammiches,

    Tasty and Delicious.

    Sammiches, Sammiches,

    Yummy to the core.

The're so very good, which means they must be eaten.

Now we sound the bells of LUNCH.

  • Comment removed

  • It sounded like they said, "Dirty freaking devils!" lol

  • @slyrocks3 they did lol

  • @TheMissieangel Thought so. lol

  • @slyrocks3 Lol =)

  • i can quote this entire movie! :)

  • damn you Disney for making "pocahontas 2"

  • 3:43 best big screen ive ever seen :DD

  • This reminds me of World of Warcraft in this sense.

Alliance - British, but with different motives

Horde - The Native Americans, but with different motives.

  • It would be good to have an emotional compass sometimes,,,

  • A great lesson is this movie and its songs..."They're different from us, which mean they must be evil"

And real life is just like this!

  • Fucking compasses, HOW DO THEY WORK?!?!

  • @Muppetz540 in London xd

  • I love when her shadow turns into an eagle. Its so cool

  • Also unrelated to the random comment argument that I'm using to distract myself from my history essay. At 1:37 the lyrics have been changed from the original "Let's go Kill a few men!" to "Let's go get a few men!". Just found that interesting.

  • It’s not the drums of war, it’s the sound of an audience being forcefully beaten over the head with a message over and over again.

  • Ok never seen this movie before, but based on my knowledge the First Nations would have been annihalted by the modern European arms, unless they had some but they dont....

  • Now we know where Jack Sparrow got his compass! :D

  • @Darkcloudalchemist except there's a pretty significant gap in the time periods.

  • this will be the day~

    lets go men!

    this will be the mornig~

    bring out the prisoner!!!

    *john smith is pulled out*

me: 0o0 go commando! go comando!!!!

  • I actually appreciate the songs juxtaposition of painting both groups as xenophobic and willing to kill the other. They don't automatically paint the white guys as evil and the natives as faultless people of the earth. Unlike some OTHER people who made similar stories *coughjamescameroncough*

  • I like how they try to balance it all out as if the Native Americans didn't have a damn good reason to wanna kill all those white people.

  • @Buzz0Killington And what reason would that be?

  • @Southparker100000000 Um, ok. I'm just gonna assume the fact that you posed that question is enough of a reason for me to ignore it.

  • @Buzz0Killington The European settlement of the Americas is the greatest thing to happen to the savage Natives in their entire meagre existence you dumbass. Without the Europeans they'd still be dying at the age of 30 and starving every 6 years, whilst constantly warring with each other.

  • @Southparker100000000 the European's invaded land that wasn't theirs, destroyed entire races and cultures, and didn't even care how many Native Americans they killed. The Native Americans tried to co-exist peacefully with the settlers, but the European's instigated violence against them, motivated by greed alone. How can you say that one civilization is better than another if you never even lived back then? Don't be so Eurocentric

  • @MrBilmister "How can you say that one civilization is better than another if you never even lived back then?"

Firstly, the American Indians were not a civilization, this is fact I will prove with the dictionary.

    civ·i·li·za·tion

Noun: The most advanced stage of human social development and organization

Secondarily, I don't need to live in the 1500s to discern which societies were superior, by your logic the Holocaust did not happen because you were not there to witness it.

  • @Southparker100000000 Godwin's Law, you lose. But in all seriousness, you're only using one definition of the word civilization, and not even the most accurate one at that in regards to the context. Secondly, it is extremely ignorant for you to claim that Native Peoples did not possess any form of civilization, and that either of the societies was overall superior.

  • @MrBilmister Thirdly, the American Indians were not peaceful and often took part in open hostilities to settlers. One reason they were called savages is because of their conduct in matters of war, which were thought of as barbaric by European Gentlemen.

Fourthly, Europeans clearly did care if they harmed American Indians because they were valuable trading partners.

Fifthly, Europeans came to the Americas(with the exception of many Spaniards) to make a new life for themselves, not steal gold.

  • @Southparker100000000 Thirdly, you're generalizing Native Peoples. Many of them, as you mentioned in your fourth point, were trading partners with the Europeans, and so had reason to keep positive relations with the Europeans. Some groups, such as the Huron even lived in close proximity with the settlers and were assimilated into European culture. Fourthly, it would be a lie to say that most early explorers and settlers didn't come to the Americas for economic reason.

  • @MrBilmister I believe that rebuttals everyone of your poorly thought out, moronic points. Please get an education and cure your ignorance. You're an embarrassment to your nation.

    kthnxbye

  • OMG there smoke is killing each other!!!!!

  • Transcribe audio make this song hilarious

  • lol transcribed audio is hilarious try it.

  • Would there also be his jar of dirt >.>

  • 4:10 boob hug :3

  • I have to say, pocahontas probably has some of the best imagery scenes out of the disney films

  • their different from us which means they must be EVIL!!

  • Did anyone notice that British took a red tone to their skin, just like how the Native American's took on a blue/white tone to theirs.
