@mrmoparrr Well that depends. In my car, street bike and lawn mower I like a 4 stroke, for off road fun I prefer a 2 stroke. There's nothing like the rush of a 2 stroke on the pipe!
Awesome video, the bike sounds a bit deeper than before huh? I'm comparing it to my 05 that I trail ride and mine has a higher pitch for sure. Bike sounds like it has loads of torque.
What porting did you go with in the end?
What elevation are you at with that jetting?
You were saying that you cannot get enough airflow at higher RPM's with your reed setup.. You should contact eric gorr and see if there is something else you can do or aren't doing right..
@brentnowell - We're at 900ft elevation. The porting was new for Gorr, he went with a cross between the 450F power band and the KTM ExC300 power band. I think the exhaust port needs to move up another mm, but I have a spare carb I'm going to bore out 1.5mm to see what that does for me first. I'll probably put a couple base gaskets under the cylinder to get a feel for the porting change before hitting it with a dremel and replating it. I've talked to Gorr, he's of the same mind as me.
how do you like ur 295? I want some more oomph out of my bike. Im going to change my silencer from a shorty to a factory sound for the over rev and mabey a v force and see how the power is and then hopefully get a 285 I think the 265 will be a waste. I think ill have it ported for more topend because it has lots of bottem end nuts. How does it rev? I dont want to lose all my topend and over rev.
@rockinbass01 I can't get enough air thru the intake system to get the 295 to over rev like the 250. Vforce will not help. They breathe terribly and only help at low end. I put on a Rad Valve and found it doesn't help the top end. I'm still experimenting with carb boring and reed configuration to get the air thru it at 8000 rpm. I'll keep you posted as I work my way thru it. Don't get me wrong this motor will blow away a stock 250 and a 450F, but most of the gain is in the low to mid range.
What do you like better ? 2 stroke or the thumper?

God, that bike sounds nice. Makes me want to get the big bore kit for my 250 just based on how orgasmic it sounds!
