I really don't think fascism is the right term to describe the imperium. Rome itself wasn't fascist. Mussolini developed the concept and said that it is better described as corporatism. Ergo when corporations become the state, you have fascism. The Imperium of Man cannot be described with one word and that word is definitely not fascism.

@TheM6A2 the Knights of Blood still live heretic there are some who joined chaos and for that we branded as traitors but most of us fight for the Imperium even if it has to be in secrecy
One thing i love about the Black Templar is that they are specified as a chapter where rank is mostly unimportant - their Space Marines fight together and take orders because they're comrades, not because they're a librarian or a sergeant, or because someone told them to.
I just want to thank you, DuskSniper, for doing this video :) The Black Templars are my favorite chapter and i think that they often don't get enough attention, so now when they finally got a proper (and really, really good) tribute i am very thankfull :D Cheers mate!

I think the Black Templars represent the worst that is in a Loyalist Space Marine. A chapter of genetically enhanced zealot bigots who crusade the stars like a lynch mob annihilating entire planets worth of populations for even showing a tiny bit of heresy. They do it not because of loyalty and honor or justice, but they use those as an excuse to purge everything in their path. The novel "Helsreach" fits that trope perfectly.
@MegaValhalla I assure you I'm not trolling. Yes, they were killing Orks but they did it for the sake of killing them rather than defending the population. Aaron Dembski Bowden had said this also when he compared them with Salamanders. The Salamanders concentrated on the civilian population while the BT charged the Orks. They dismissed the Salamanders as weak and Grimaldus palmed them off without a prayer.
@romanlegions if you remembered reading another part of the book, where orks had breached hive helsreach using submarines, a sword brethren threw himself into a mob of incoming orks to buy time for the retreating soldiers and civilians. But still, yes the templars are zealots and would much rather be in the thick of it than worrying about the population.
Once more i am impressed with this mix of artwork and music choice :) if i could give out a medal to you m8 instead of just a thumbs up i would :) keep up the good work.

K step 1 : base coat legs, paint checkers on right shinpad (the marine's right leg not ours)
step 2: i copy the tunics from the BT upgrade sprue using fiberglass resin and plasticine to make molds
Step 3: I use the helmets from the Bretonian questing knights rrrrr grail knights box, but this often requires alot of carving of pewter or plastic to get them to fit
@00Partyfox00 Step 6: I use blood red then black ink or dry-bush bleached bone for 'cloth like' pieces
all the black armor gets highlights (except for the shin pad with the checkers obviously) Honesty if you arent willing to do tiny grey highlights on every marine then you shouldn't start templars , unless you're painting them some strange greyish variant which i've seen done before, but I'm not a fan.
I use alot of mithral silver, some shinning gold for pieces that look like coils (melta gun)
@00Partyfox00 Step 7: i use blood red and skull white for lots of crests and symbols. For powerswords, crusader seals and purity seals i've made a special colour; its 2/3 pot of shining gold mixed with 1/2 a pot of brazen brass mixed with 1/2 a pot of dwarven bronze. Now i call THAT colour itself "Spartan".Then i mix "spartan" with a little mithral silver to that to get a vuuuuuuury nice colour
Step 8: for the casing on the guns and chain swords, i mix black, not silver with the spartan mix.

One thing i love about the Black Templar is that they are specified as a chapter where rank is mostly unimportant - their Space Marines fight together and take orders because they're comrades, not because they're a librarian or a sergeant, or because someone told them to.

I think the Black Templars represent the worst that is in a Loyalist Space Marine. A chapter of genetically enhanced zealot bigots who crusade the stars like a lynch mob annihilating entire planets worth of populations for even showing a tiny bit of heresy. They do it not because of loyalty and honor or justice, but they use those as an excuse to purge everything in their path. The novel "Helsreach" fits that trope perfectly.

@MegaValhalla I assure you I'm not trolling. Yes, they were killing Orks but they did it for the sake of killing them rather than defending the population. Aaron Dembski Bowden had said this also when he compared them with Salamanders. The Salamanders concentrated on the civilian population while the BT charged the Orks. They dismissed the Salamanders as weak and Grimaldus palmed them off without a prayer.

@romanlegions if you remembered reading another part of the book, where orks had breached hive helsreach using submarines, a sword brethren threw himself into a mob of incoming orks to buy time for the retreating soldiers and civilians. But still, yes the templars are zealots and would much rather be in the thick of it than worrying about the population.

K step 1 : base coat legs, paint checkers on right shinpad (the marine's right leg not ours)
step 2: i copy the tunics from the BT upgrade sprue using fiberglass resin and plasticine to make molds
Step 3: I use the helmets from the Bretonian questing knights rrrrr grail knights box, but this often requires alot of carving of pewter or plastic to get them to fit
Step 4: base the whole thing black

@00Partyfox00 Step 6: I use blood red then black ink or dry-bush bleached bone for 'cloth like' pieces
all the black armor gets highlights (except for the shin pad with the checkers obviously) Honesty if you arent willing to do tiny grey highlights on every marine then you shouldn't start templars , unless you're painting them some strange greyish variant which i've seen done before, but I'm not a fan.
I use alot of mithral silver, some shinning gold for pieces that look like coils (melta gun)

@00Partyfox00 Step 7: i use blood red and skull white for lots of crests and symbols. For powerswords, crusader seals and purity seals i've made a special colour; its 2/3 pot of shining gold mixed with 1/2 a pot of brazen brass mixed with 1/2 a pot of dwarven bronze. Now i call THAT colour itself "Spartan".Then i mix "spartan" with a little mithral silver to that to get a vuuuuuuury nice colour
Step 8: for the casing on the guns and chain swords, i mix black, not silver with the spartan mix.
