Banks were coerced by FannieMae & FreddieMac per HUD by the Community Reinvestment Act of 1977 & subsequent amendments in 1989, 1995 & 2005 and Federal Housing Enterprises Financial Safety and Soundness Act of 1992 for providing loans to poor people who couldn't afford to repay them & w/o background checks. Get gov out of housing & banks and if a bank fails, that's only that banks prob, not everyone else's.

Banks have way too much power over this country, that is why we need regulations to control banks activities. if we take government regulation out of banks who is to say they wont raise there interest rates on loans, credit cards, etc. over 30% 40%. it is regulation that keeps certain things under control.

Just get rid of the Fed and decentralize the banks by getting gov out of it and then their lack of accountability will be eliminated. If we deregulated the banks, competition will ensure that banks have to follow consumer demand to ensure that interest rates are minimized. Regulation only keeps gov in control and eventually screws everything up as costs aren't checked w/gov in control.

Just look at the airline industry with its poor quality and numerous needs of bail-outs. Regulation ensures that cos can't manage costs as they have to focus on regulations and not the profit motive. The profit motive ensures that costs are kept to a minimum and quality is at a maximum to compete for customers. Gov doesn't check costs as it just passes it to taxpayers.

Blacks were the ones who were treated as subhuman, legally regarded as such, and who couldn't earn their freedom and integrate into society like their non-black counterparts. Hell, there were blacks who had been granted freedom who were pulled back into slavery because they were BLACK.
In any case, the real problem wasn't slavery. It was the hundred years of oppression that followed. It's only recently (ie. in the past decade or so) that one can actually say that it's over without looking like a fool.
Blacks need to stop with the victim mentality, stop with the whining, and clean up their culture. However, white Americans' ignorance of history needs to end as well. Not for black people's sake, but so that you understand the world you live in and don't speak/act like a fool.

Banks were coerced by FannieMae & FreddieMac per HUD by the Community Reinvestment Act of 1977 & subsequent amendments in 1989, 1995 & 2005 and Federal Housing Enterprises Financial Safety and Soundness Act of 1992 for providing loans to poor people who couldn't afford to repay them & w/o background checks. Get gov out of housing & banks and if a bank fails, that's only that banks prob, not everyone else's.

Just get rid of the Fed and decentralize the banks by getting gov out of it and then their lack of accountability will be eliminated. If we deregulated the banks, competition will ensure that banks have to follow consumer demand to ensure that interest rates are minimized. Regulation only keeps gov in control and eventually screws everything up as costs aren't checked w/gov in control.

Just look at the airline industry with its poor quality and numerous needs of bail-outs. Regulation ensures that cos can't manage costs as they have to focus on regulations and not the profit motive. The profit motive ensures that costs are kept to a minimum and quality is at a maximum to compete for customers. Gov doesn't check costs as it just passes it to taxpayers.

There's countries where they defeated and kicked out the Europeans who tried to take it over. Ethiopia is a well known African country that defeated and extracted the Italians when they tried to take it over.

The first week was "Diversity Week", speakers were permitted to voice their opinions in "Free Speech Areas". I was friggin mortified. I now take as many classes on-line as possible and try to avoid the disaster that has become college campuses. The free speech area implies that the constitution doesn't apply anywhere else on campus.

as far as the origin of slavery goes... every race has done it over the millenia. Sometimes to other races, sometimes to their own. I think the "whiteman" gets most of the focus because while other peoples had the darkness of paganism to mitigate their guilt, our christian culture is (rightfully) held to a higher standard. White Americans are the only ones in recent history who injected such racism and cruelty into their slave practices. Yes, there were white "slaves" in America, as well as Native American ones. Blacks were the ones who were treated as subhuman, legally regarded as such, and who couldn't earn their freedom and integrate into society like their non-black counterparts. Hell, there were blacks who had been granted freedom who were pulled back into slavery because they were BLACK.

In any case, the real problem wasn't slavery. It was the hundred years of oppression that followed. It's only recently (ie. in the past decade or so) that one can actually say that it's over without looking like a fool.
Blacks need to stop with the victim mentality, stop with the whining, and clean up their culture. However, white Americans' ignorance of history needs to end as well. Not for black people's sake, but so that you understand the world you live in and don't speak/act like a fool.
