The website said it can go up to 300", but I tried the projector in my backyard and I can only get to about 212" and the quality is surprisingly good. The brightness and contrast is little crappy, but it's a great HD projector for the price.
@skizza83 the optoma hd65 goes from 2.4' up to 29' diagonal basically the length of almost two (one and 3 quarters of a second) chevy impalas nose to tail
well yes 1k is a lot of money but considering that 1080p projectors when first out where priced at 15k-20k and the optoma hd65 just a couple of months back was 1k so when he bought this projector he probably bought at original price of 1k
the idea of a projector amused me especially when it comes to eyefinity from ATI (youtube it) but for such a high price i get a iffy projector i cant use when its sunny in my room.
i guess if i ever finish the basement this would make an awesome addition since it would take up alot less space.
So u wanted to put multiple projectors in 1 room.sounds beastly, but it's obviously impossible to play Video Games or watch movies in such matter. If Eyefinity supports that.
so if you want to adjust size in screen you have to manualy move the projector back and forth to shrink picture size or increase it ? ... i have a 90" projector screen up ready and my pojector high up on shelf 10 feet back ... what size picture will i get with those stats.
Is this Projector able to do widescreen, from what I'v seen in your impressive video its not but then i could be wrong. I have a 32" LCD widescreen HD ready Samsung TV which is about 3 years old now do you think it would be better then that? I want a bigger screen so why spend 8 £900 on a new tv when i can get a projector for less money. Let me know about the widescreen should be gettin one at the end of the year:0) Nice vid
I like your set up. I have a few questions, about how far were you to get that size image and also how high off the ground did you post it? Any answers to these questions will be highly appreciated!
If you're just watching movies it wouldn't make you go blind, but if you stare at the lamp directly, that would make you blind. Most of the time, I have a hard time watching movies, because I have to turn my head just to see the whole screen.
Currently, I have the projector about 15 feet back, which gives me the 108 inch diagonal screen. I am sitting about 12 feet from the enormous screen. Too bad I have a small room, because I really wanted a 150+ inch screen size. The projector must be at least 20 feet back to reach 150inch.
The blacks are excellent and the lumens on this projector is 2000, that is very good for a home theater projector. I have the lumens set at 1200, that's not the max, so this thing could go super bright. My old 52" lcd had perfect black levels, but the brightness is no where near the optoma hd65.
Q. How long will the lamp last ? aprox? Thanks

Here's a recipe for you to try. A little google. With a dash of projector central and top it all off with calculator pro.

malisjem09 2 years ago
Movies are in full 1080p bluray, but scaled down to 720p. Still, the image quality looks perfect.
