A democracy is many things to many people. The early Greek city states had slaves and still thought of themselves as democracies. There were elections and citizens did vote. Before the American civil war there were slaves in the south and yet the people of the south still thoiught what they had was a democracy. The concept is flexible. What is called a democracy in the USA right now isn't bad. No one, not Iran or the USA should be making nukes.

The funny part is that the countries that are trying to prevent Iran from possessing Nuclear weapons, are the same countries that used them once or many times before. U.S.A should be inspected for military nuclear programs and you can go and ask Japanese people for that. Meanwhile, France has spread cancers over several islands and killing hundreds of people, but they were never questioned or blamed for the destruction they made.
