He showed me my pentatonic scales (the scales all of Jimmy Page's solos are composed of). He wrote it down in this notebook and I came back a week later. He sat through my playing of it which took a about a minute, and then he breezed through it in like five seconds flat and gave me this big huge grin. Believe me, he knows exactly what he's doing with every single note.
ive seen jimi play hundreds of times and mixed him at least 50 times yes he loves speed but this cat can slow down and play very tastefull blues and country he can basicaly play anything so anyone who comments (yeah but can he slow down) doesn't have a clue to his total talent! play what you love Jimi!

Cryer played covers for sure.
However, they had a robust set of original material that had real airplay.
They were a much better band than any band with Jimi Bell.
I'm just so sick of hearing the same solo played at warp speed over and over again.
Cryer certainly did enough damage to themselves.
Jeff got sick, Mark took over on drums and then getting rid of Jon as the vocalist really hurt.
Losing Steve broke my heart.

To each his own.
I find most of the so-called shredders to be incredibly vacuous and I'd put Jimi right at the top of the list.
However, he is great at marketing his skill for himself in business so I do have a measure of respect for him.
The problem is Jimi sounds just like he did 20 years ago.
Even a genuine virtuoso like EVH has changed over the years.
Compare the guitar work in "Humans Being" to their first album.
The difference is night and day but still unmistakeably EVH.
