  • Hi! Thanks for sharing your experience and the info. Do you still have that dry eye / eyelid ripping sensation? Have you asked your doctor if they are any side-effects to that? I appreciate if you can please share that as well. And, one last thing--How serious are the follow up sessions? What does Dr. do in follow ups? I am asking this, because my Dr. lives in a different state, and I would have to choose a different Dr. for my follow ups...THANKSSSS!

  • wanted to check in with you and see how your vision is now. i am considering getting PRK. did you have any complications? how long did it take to get better?

  • Why did you choose PRK? I had LASIK with IntraLase and the wavefront guided system and I'm so satisfied with my results. I tested 20/20 the day after. Not 20/15, but eh, better than the 20/200 or so that my eyes were without refractive surgery.

  • It really wasn't a choice for me. It's been over a year and a half now but as I remember my doctor said that my cornea was too thin and it would be risky to do Lasik. I think the final results were the same. The recovery time was the only problem.

  • LOL. Why does my eye surgeon wear glasses? o.O;;

    How's your vision doing now? I'm hoping to get PRK myself eventually.

  • It's doing great! It was pretty good after a week and it has just got better from there. I was 20/20 last time I tested and I think I'm a little better now than I was then...It is the greatest thing i have ever done for myself..without question!

  • any dry eye issues that endure indefinitely? evidently, this is fairly common with LASIK, and I'm wanting to find out if this is the case with PRK as well. also, is it true that the post-op pain is so great that you can't sleep for several nights? thanks in advance.

  • #1 Dry eyes...Yes and no...If I wake up suddenly in the middle of the night and open my eye lids too fast it feels like my eye lids are stuck to my eye balls and there is a ripping sensation that hurts pretty bad but goes away after about 10 minutes...like pulling a piece of tape off your skin really fast. Besides that no dryness problems...

    #2 Pain...There is pain for around a week but I never had trouble sleeping. They will give you some numbing drops that will help a lot..

    Good Luck!

  • I had LASEK, and the stuck eyelid/ripping sensation only happened to me twice during the second week. I used a gel at night to prevent this for about a week. I had it two months ago, and am 100% satisfied.
