@Zalytunz Bands are free to do what they want. And I love it when bands do something new because it means they are growing and developing. I like the new sound because it leaves more room to have fun with the rhythm section. If you notice, "I'm With You" is almost ALL basslines, and as a fellow bass player I must admit this swayed my opinion of the album.

Josh is a great musician. He's really talented. Checking out wikipedia, I discovered that he plays not only guitar or drums, but also bass, synthesizer, keyboards and piano. Besides, he has an amazing voice. Losing Frusciante was bad for the RHCP, but I think they've found a great replacement.
I have always thought Chad Smith looked uncannily like Will Ferrell. He really nails the Harry Carey character in this one. He is a badass, nonetheless.

Stop comparing john with josh. Obviously Josh have to follow the line of john, but he have a personal awesome style. And both are great friends, so nobody is copying the each other. Josh is one of the best guitarist and his voice is very special

Frusciante had never played any concert, never record any album and yet he was "fitting" perfectly. So I don't know why it couldn't be the same with Josh.

josh isnt a good fit with the chili peppers theres less maturity in him than the other guys there nearing 50 while he just turned 30 very bad match john should have stayed beside the point that he also looks emo

AND you are missing the point here. John is NOT the chili peppers. If you have heard his newest solo album, The Empyrean, then you know that he is no longer at heart part of the chilis

@zackattack94 Ha... you don't know anything about Josh's maturity. Maturity doesn't always just come with age, you know. He could be just as mature mentally as the rest of them... he's the only person that could take John's place.

@zackattack94 John is much younger than the others as well, so your comment doesn't make sense. And Josh has actually more experience than John when he joined the band. Frusciante had never played any concert, never record any album and yet he was "fitting" perfectly. So I don't know why it couldn't be the same with Josh.
