First off, Aisha's age is a source of controversy in Islamic sources (like hadith), with one veritable source saying one age and another saying a different one. The point is that for marriage in Islam to be legal, both parties HAVE to have hit puberty. Otherwise, it is null. So that point is settled.

@18butterflyy As you say, if there is only one verifiable source, the Hadiths, and even these contradict eachother one begins to suspect the whole thing as a racket anyway. NONE of the original manuscripts of the Koran survived as they were all hunted down and destroyed - so as to have only one 'authentic' version. The translations have even been 'adjusted' so as to make it appear to fit with current scientific knowledge.

@ritchloui What complete and utter nonsense! I hope you have thoroughly researched such an absurd claim.Other religious scriptures are FULL of contradictions as they have been altered by people. However the Quran has remained the same for centuries, I suggest you go to a museum and compare an old version of the Quran with one printed recently. Until you do this, your statement is invalid. The Quran is the word of God, not adapted nor changed, this explains why scientists are now converting.

@ritchloui The prophet (pbuh) only had one virgin wife (Aisha). All the others were either emancipated slaves, widows, or divorcees. If he was actually as promiscuous and a pedophile as some people claim, why was Aisha his only virgin wife? Many girls and unmarried women would have been honored to marry him, and he could have had his pick of the prettiest, but he did not.

@ritchloui In all the controversies the nonmuslims said against Muslims, Aisha's age was never mentioned, indicating that it was not something immoral or bad at the time. In fact, around the same time and later, young girls and teens were offered to much older men in Europe. It was a social custom at the time that was ingrained in society.

@ritchloui Please provide an authentic source regarding women face 'beheading, stoning, maiming and flogging if her husband has had enough of her or wants another 3 wives for himself'. Men are allowed to hit women, in the sense of tapping lightly-and never on the face. If millions of Muslim women are happy and perfectly content, who are you to say that this is not the way they should live? Whatever Muslims do regarding marriage, it seems to be working, hence the incredibly low divorce rate.

The entire Islamist takeover in Africa and the Middle East has been reported as 'civil war' 'ethnic or tribal conflict' and the mass starvation of displaced non-Muslims as 'famine'. Then of course the 'war on terror', 'extremists' 'insurgents'. The madhouse of Islam is staring us in the face but we're supposed to think it's not an inherently bandit ideology of slavers and thieves.
