  • Norman Thomas was one of the great Americans of the 20th Century...

  • Yawn

  • "None of the quotes in your 2nd or 3rd comments refer to socialist or communist policies."

Obama says, "redistribution of wealth, and of more basic issues such as political and economic justice in society"

Obama says, " generally the Constitution is a charter of negative liberties.

    Get educated.

"cap-and-trade, a free market solution". Cap and trade isn't a free market solution. The gov. dictates how much CO2 is admitted, this raising taxes and government control anything but free market.

  • In his artical, "The Impossible becomes Possible" CPUSA Leader Sam Webb embraced Obama's policies. He said that because of Obama, communists ""can dream again, knowing that the gap between our dreams and reality is bridgeable."

""I am confident the American people in their millions reeling under the weight of this terrible economic crisis and yearning for a more decent, equal, peaceful and just world will follow their example and turn this country into a more perfect union."

  • Webb also said, "In this new political climate, we can foresee winning a public option, like Medicare, in the current legislative fight over health care reform."

"We can visualize enacting tough regulatory reforms on the financial industry that brought the economy to ruin."

"We can imagine bringing the troops home from Iraq and Afghanistan, while being part of a regional process that brings peace and stability to the entire region."

  • "Isn't it possible in the post-Bush era to launch a vigorous attack on global warming and create millions of green jobs in manufacturing and elsewhere? Can't we envision taking new strides in the long journey for racial and gender equality in this new era, marked at its beginning by the election of the first African American to the presidency?"

"We have to reach, activate, unite and turn millions of Americans into change agents who can make the political difference in these struggles."

  • Not to mention the fact that the Russians are warning us of "the American decent into Marxism". And the fact that a community organizer is a tool to make the poor vote for democrats as it was organized by socialist revolutionary, Saul Alynski. Let's look at Obama's and the neo-Marxist's policies:

    1) A bill that would turn newspapers into pet-projects for the government.

    2) A bill that would make it so ALL employee's pay is controlled by government. something Lenin emphasized.

  • 3) Puttin open communist revolutionary Van Jones into his cabinet.

    4) Putting a former member of a World Socialist group, a socialist group that believes one world government is the answer to global warming, in cabient.

    5)Obama nationalizing GM.

  • 6) A law pushed for by Bobby Rush that makes it so you need a liscense to own a gun.

And let me quote Obama on something:

"If you look at the victories and failures of the civil rights movement and its litigation strategy in the court. I think where it succeeded was to invest formal rights in previously dispossessed people, so that now I would have the right to vote. I would now be able to sit at the lunch counter and order as long as I could pay for it Id be o.k.

  • But, the Supreme Court never ventured into the issues of redistribution of wealth, and of more basic issues such as political and economic justice in society. To that extent, as radical as I think people try to characterize the Warren Court, it wasnt that radical. It didnt break free from the essential constraints that were placed by the founding fathers in the Constitution, at least as its been interpreted and Warren Court interpreted in the same way,

  • that generally the Constitution is a charter of negative liberties. Says what the states cant do to you. Says what the Federal government cant do to you, but doesnt say what the Federal government or State government must do on your behalf, and that hasnt shifted and one of the, I think, tragedies of the civil rights movement was, um, because the civil rights movement became so court focused I think there was a tendency to lose track of the political and community organizing

  • and activities on the ground that are able to put together the actual coalition of powers through which you bring about redistributive change. In some ways we still suffer from that."

  • Your an idiot....both American socialist and commusit parties backed Obama in the election. Obama's parents were both socialists....get real you douche !

  • oh great!

  • so not stunning, but it is timely, so thanks for strengthening what seemed to be implied anyway

  • This Bitch is a socialist.

  • You are smarter than this.

One quote of a socialist does not a socialist make. Especially when the quote was that champions of causes not yet won, I mean if she would have quoted marx as saying the proletatiariat will overthrow the bourgeoisie than yeah, but come on that quote could have come from anyone.

I guess George H.W. Bush was a little lame in his vetting of Ms. Sotomayor as he appointed a socialist to a lifetime position as a district court judge, how could he be so foolish? (Twice)

  • There are quotes from people who aren't socialists who say similar things. For an example, Benjamin Franklin said, "A life of leisure and a life of laziness are two things. There will be sleeping enough in the grave," which is similar to the Norman Thomas quote. So, if Sotomayor wanted that theme, why didn't she chose the socialist leader's over the founding father's?

You're right about George H.W. Bush, that could be said about any critism of him.

  • A decent video with a few misspellings. But you forgot to include the all important quote of Norman Thomas:

"The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But under the name of 'liberalism' they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program, until one day America will be a Socialist nation, without knowing how it happened."

  • Anyone who is a member of La Raza...should not be on the Supreme Court period !

  • you are the company that you keep.

If you want to see a man's character, look at his friends.

  • If this were the 1700's Obama would be dead. Hung for treason

  • This is no surprise to me at all. Look at his cabinet picks and you know where he is coming from, the far left. The repubs wont have the stones to oppose her because of gender and race issues. They are afraid that dems will call out the racist boogeyman to attack them and make them look bad. Obama is an ist that believes in the ism. What a social guy he is.

  • "The repubs wont have the stones"

The rebubs lost their stone when Reagan died. It's been all down hill from there.

  • Agreed, they would not have the votes anyway. A no vote by all of them would show unity. That is about all they can hope for.

  • Americans are quite unprepared, you are being forced to face those social and political contradictions that grow up unsuspected in every society even in Nazi Germany and the former USSR! The Great American Coup! Go ahead say it! Maybe then you will believe what you see. The undaunting truth! Will Americans act in time to stop it? I highly doubt it.

  • Unfortionatly, I think, You're Right.

    GOD BLESS, ALL TRUE PATRIOTS!

    Deo Vindice!
