hey can anyone help me. i want a sound system for my car but i cant decide on what or how to get it. i know the people at the audio store are trying to jip me and sell me the best shit. i listen to alot of techno and trance. thats about all i listen to. i want a system that is nice and loud and bassy but not overdoing it with the bass so i cant hear the song. i want that perfect balance like this system. any help please??

hey bro. im a sound engineer from australia.

what you want is external EQ or a Pass filter in your system. so what would happen is your front speakers of ur car would be the high end (where the music is) and NO low end. then you will want ur subs to be small. say 12 inch. this will give u less rumble and more thud. smaller then 12 is really punchy but 15 can be rumbly at high volume. you also want a volume control for ur sub. that way if it does get overbearing u can turn it down.

Yeh i am an audio engineer. the guy asked for simple advice and i gave him simple advice. it doesnt matter if its a car audio system or a concert the principle is the same. only difference is the equipment. if you want complicated advice i am happy to give it but people wanna be able to understand the answer to a question, and not hear a bunch of industry jargon.

I mean if your running that many amps, subs and speakers, obviously you know how to set them up. its like telling a construction worker who just finished building a house how to wire in a light socket. im sure he already knows ;)

the guy that asked the question didnt make the video dumb ass. obviously he wanted to know an answer thats why he asked the question. would u like the more complicated answer? buy a crossover tune it so it changes at 160hz. you also want to do a 4 and 5Khz boost. that will bring the high sounds out. cut about 800hz that pull the middle range out a bit to give definition to the bass and highs. if u really want it to bite boost 8Khz. although to do this you will need a graphic EQ.

i noticed also. very out of phase. but having subs slighty out of phase can actually increase bass notes making the waves last longer and produce larger.

yeh the center sub is 180 out of phase. but he has jacked up the song to much and it is distorting. at a lower volume it would be nicer and effectively louder.

over all its a shit system tho. the boot lid has no supports and will just rattle. and the mid range spks are doing all the grunt work at the high end. he needs more tweeters and less mid.
