  • 1-22-2012. Happy 80th Birthday to "Mrs. White."

  • I saw this movie again last night. What an amazing movie.

  • why didn't you tell me MOMMA!! :)

  • The way she pronounced Jesus is hilarious!!!

    JEEZIUS at 1:03!!!

  • Sounds like momma is having an orgasm @ 13:23.

  • God I love this movie...and love the book even more. Kings first novel..and it indicative of the author. You think it's a horror story but it's a dark, beautiful story about a sad picked on her. I'm always amazed how much I root and feel for Carrie, even after she has committed mass murder. And Spacek...Christ. Can anyone else had played this part? Even though in the book Carrie is somewhat chubby. I fell in love with Sissy after this.

  • She really played her character well she and sissy should have got an Oscar each for their performances.

  • If I remember correctly, the first sin was not intercorse, it was when adam and eve disobeyed god and ate from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. what kind of book was she reading from anyway?

  • she's a god damn lunatic

  • God, I love Piper Laurie. Every time somebody wears an outfit they're proud of I say: "They're all gonna laugh at you!" Then when they run off crying I say "Eve was weak! Say it! Eve was weak!"

  • Lorena Bobbitt got her inspiration from this film.

What kind of funky biblical translation was that crazy woman reading from anyway? Love the way they timed the thunderclap with the word "prom".

  • Oh, and to the original poster, stargirlpower, this was NOT Laurie's first screen role. Laurie has been in films since the early 50s, and even earned an Academy Award nomination in 1961 for her amazing performance in "The Hustler" - she is one of the most underrated actresses in film history.

  • This is not Spacek's first role, either - the fantastic "Badlands" came out four years before "Carrie," and "Prime Cut" before it in 1972...

  • How did these two NOT win the Oscar that year? These are two of the most indelible performances in motion picture history. Piper Laurie is soooooo scary in this!

  • "I shoulda given ya to God when you were born!" Can I get that on a Hallmark card for Mother's Day? LOL

  • I love how Mrs Snell is enjoying an afternoon cocktail while watching her stories. HA!

  • I wouldn't invite that wackjob into MY house !!

  • he ain't com'n!

  • Omigod! Its Shirley Phelps Roper!!!

  • @CapricornDavo You win. You just plain win.

  • Now that is what I call acting

  • "No, he ain't coming!" - I say that line alllllllllllllllllllllll the time, when someone is running late

  • Happy 79th Birthday to Piper Laurie, nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her portrayal of Margaret White, a cultish religious fanatic in 1976's "Carrie" with Sissy Spacek.
