I couldn't talk crap last time I saw this because I didn't have an account but now all I got to say is these 2 skills & lame coach look like idiots at least find a fat guy to look like a lineman
The swim move is effective because you turn the blocker's body awy from you so they cant brake your ribs with their forearm. This is also great because im the tallest player on my high school football team, and instead of going under with the rip move you can go over with the swim move, and also it stops the blocker from cut blocking you.
This is so fuking lame, if you want to know how to play defensive end just give me a call I play for Texas Tech haha btw try putting that guy against someone his own size
Are you kidding me? The offensive lineman put up absolutely NO fight. I could have destroyed that kid when he tried to swim pass me. Terrible; I think you should know somthing about football before you try to teach people.
expert village is a joke this is one of the worst videos i have ever seen why would that small kid be playing line and that swim sucked anyway i bet even he could block it
im 178pounds im a quick d end and all but what shitty coach tells him to swim does this shit even work anymore? ive been taught to juke, bull rush n release, push n pull, and spin but NEVER EVER swim or thats 20 up downs
Swim moves hardly work in highschool varisty football. unless your playing an extremely crappy team. I got punched in the ribs from swimming, so I never done it again.
Im going for defensive end in high school. Im 14, 6'3, 230 pounds, somewhat fast (enough speed to play). One problem is i can only bench 100-110. I just got into weight lifting though, i started last month. Do i need to be able to bench more?
@physchohead24 yea but dont worry ull get it pretty quick. im 5'9" 155lbs sophomore defensive end and im benching about my weight right now, but ive been lifting for 3 months. ull get it quick just wait a few weeks
@physchohead24 you can always lift more in football haha its important to be strong and stay low when you play. Staying low will really help, but nothing can replace strenght
@physchohead24 You'll get stronger as you keep going. Don't get discouraged if you're not as strong as you want to be right away. Just keep lifting and strength will come over time. Everyone has to start somewhere. Always practice good form so you don't get hurt. Good form and proper technique are way more important than how much you lift. Also, don't neglect your legs. Squats, deadlifts, and power-cleans are king.
well most of the time that tackle or tightend aint gona run away from that d end. so that d end would have to fake going to the outside then cut back in and then do the move
swim sucks ass. I prefer to bring my inside arm to his outside arm, and using my left arm to hit his elbow instead. lol this the second video I watched of your bullshit, im done commenting and watching this crap.
if your going to teach the swim please teach it right. it is called the swim but your motion is not that exaggerative. it's a punch over the shoulder rather then a swim. to reduce the size of the target the OL has to block. and when you come past the OL the move is not finished the back of your arm and elbow that was used to swim now should be on the OL back, using that arm to push off of him to get separation.
You have to be quik to do the swim..i use to be slow getting off the ball and the o line would grab the inside of my pads and hold me from swimming over but now i am really quick off the ball so it is pretty effective BULL RUSH ALL DAY!!!
@welsman13 He said that swim move, not swim moves in general. You'd get your ass rocked bringing your arm up that high. Not to mention a dislocated shoulder.
@welsman13 as soon as the o-line gets his hands on ur chest, its fucking over, try that swim move aganist an o-line who has his hands on ur chest, and its pancake time
@KIDPJB1 He's warning people that what this guy is teaching is fucking stupid, that will maybe work in bantam football but high school and state/provincial teams, worthless.
Even if he does get in the backfield, the fullback thats blocking is gonna be right there to put u on your ass. And if u try to swim the FB then its gonna be to late, the play is gone.
wow what about hand fighting? the guy on defense has the worst stance ive ever seen. the lineman on offense looks like a marshmellow...god if u went inside like that u wood git blown back by a guard or TE
swim move is bad. when the left hand is up, the other guy could just knock him down cuz hes already off balenced by freeing his arm, when in faect ur tryin to free the other guys arm
1 this guy is retarted dont listen to him hes retarted all this guy et his players to do is shoot gaps and wat u doo is extend your armms and the tack and then you can use a move if swim rip etc. is your first move your gonna get your shit rocked
usefull tip: if you play o-line and someone tries this simply take you arm which ever one was swatted and recover and simply rip you arm in the guys ribs it'll help you keep your Qb safer and will make you not look like a loser
so true. Shorter ends should only use the rip. unless they can overpower the oline and then a bull rush could work before a rip. Then again speed ends could just shed the tackle with the explosion step
also if you are in a tight situation and ur team needs a tackle bad use wat is called tthe steering wheel thats when you quickly grab the ol under his shoulder pad in the chest area and you will den have complete control its illegal in sum divisons but not mine
you got to make contact..grab cloth and rip down with one hand and swim with the other... the o line wont just let you run around him...use the fattys weight agenced him
he's bringing his swimming arm up too high up. he'll get his ribs destroyed and plus when ur on the right side of the ball ur supposed to have your left hand down atleast thats the way i was taught
lol? why is the o line guy running up? what if its a pass play? and even if it isnt that "o line" guy didnt even have a stance and he was looking down...
man is this guy a jr high coach or wat cause first of all the other guys stance looks like shit second you cannot swim move of the top of the helmet because an experienced o line will hit you in the ribbs as hard as he can if you do that and trust me it hurts
u culd tell these kids arent good either haha... and swims do work sometimes .. but never against a kid who is really good.. just do a pull down then rip =]
ok! my wrestlin coach said i should try out 4 football but idk if i should or not! can any1 give me any advice?! im in good shape N im fast at runnin! not the fastest, but im still pretty fast! N i have alot of endurance! wat position best fits me?
Wow. If you're going to swim the last thing you want to do is engage the o - lineman... the purpose of the move is to get right past him. This guy seems like a elementary level coach so high schoolers if u need to learn better technique go to college football camps and learn from the best
you can swim but you need to do it right. i do swims all the time as DE and i have a 95 percent success rate the first few trys IF ITS DONE RIGHT (after the first few they usually figure out how to block you and its time to mix it up a bit). honestly i dont mind that coaches dont teach the swim, it gives me one up over everyone else
ur totaly right!!but some of these ppl r just hating cuz they cant swim properly!! i swim all the time. i waz taught to lock up, then club his arm, then swim over him, then follow through with ur elbow in his back or were his helmet stops!
idk what works for you if ur tall then the swim move is beter for you but you have more controll with the rip. but, any decent o-lineman knows to punch there guy in the ribs when they try to swim(esiest way to lay a d-lineman out), so you gotta be fast with it.
yah ur totaly right i am tall. but i thnk thats the only way i could get away with it. it works even better when u do a little inside fake step then do ur swim. doin that a go a 5sack,1-interception,3swat-down game!! ur pretty cool dude u actually get football unlike most of these people who dont even play the sport!!
lol ya seriously i play o and d-line so i know a lot about the line. sometimes, when im goin up against a slow piece of shit, i break my own rule and just swim right off the bat without locking out,but most of the time i just straight up bull-rush. what level do you play? (little league, highschool, ect.)
well i just got dun playing jf.but i look like j.v player. im in 8th but im gettin scouted by soooo many people a few schools even want me 4 j.v cuz im pretty big 4 my age! im about 6ft,160lbs.but yah i got introuble somtimes for doing that but it wasnt that big a deal cuz the game i did that every play i got about 5 sacks,2 swated balls, and a interception!! so it waz all goood.Lol
idk.all i know is that about 2 schools that want me to play j.v.told me if i work really really hard in the weight room and get bigger i could have a chance at varsity but i dont really wanna play varsity.but the varsity teams allways make playoffs or state.sooo idk.what would u do??
well first go to the better school. second, work your ass off in the wieght room. third, your coach is SMARTER than you. believe me, if he felt a freshman could actually play varsity, then you can make it on varsity. you always got to listen to your coach. but trust me dude, prepare to get ur ass kicked every day, especialy for a d-end. but, its all worth it once you step out on that field for the first time
yah!! my dads gettin me a personal trainer this summer though. The thing is that one of the schools that says i could play j.v. is the rival of the school that i really wana go to and their in the same district.and ive kinda been talkin crap on the school that really wants me.but the school that wants me has better acedemics and alot better football!!soo?????
Defensive man giving too much of a base/chest to hit/never work. D man is tall---go over the top-grab the back of the sleeve or top of the pads to use for leverage. Go in turning so that you give less of a target and can get through the offensive man. You do not have that much room on the line of scrimmage. Also, be prepared to go to the secondary move.
I couldn't talk crap last time I saw this because I didn't have an account but now all I got to say is these 2 skills & lame coach look like idiots at least find a fat guy to look like a lineman

yah ur totaly right i am tall. but i thnk thats the only way i could get away with it. it works even better when u do a little inside fake step then do ur swim. doin that a go a 5sack,1-interception,3swat-down game!! ur pretty cool dude u actually get football unlike most of these people who dont even play the sport!!

lol ya seriously i play o and d-line so i know a lot about the line. sometimes, when im goin up against a slow piece of shit, i break my own rule and just swim right off the bat without locking out,but most of the time i just straight up bull-rush. what level do you play? (little league, highschool, ect.)

idk.all i know is that about 2 schools that want me to play j.v.told me if i work really really hard in the weight room and get bigger i could have a chance at varsity but i dont really wanna play varsity.but the varsity teams allways make playoffs or state.sooo idk.what would u do??
tevinbighit12 3 years ago
well first go to the better school. second, work your ass off in the wieght room. third, your coach is SMARTER than you. believe me, if he felt a freshman could actually play varsity, then you can make it on varsity. you always got to listen to your coach. but trust me dude, prepare to get ur ass kicked every day, especialy for a d-end. but, its all worth it once you step out on that field for the first time

Defensive man giving too much of a base/chest to hit/never work. D man is tall---go over the top-grab the back of the sleeve or top of the pads to use for leverage. Go in turning so that you give less of a target and can get through the offensive man. You do not have that much room on the line of scrimmage. Also, be prepared to go to the secondary move.

this isnt good...he didnt push his arm away in the fast motion..an O-Line would be able to pancake his lats..or throw him off balance...bad swim...
EJStylez 3 years ago
he took way to big of a first step he cud easily get pancaked by a decent o lineman

one good way to make it work is to juke a little bit in the opposite direction at the begining then swim
