Richard Harris is the Bull. He was made for the role but he had to persuade the Director to give it to him, amazing. My family come from West Cork and although it wasnt filmed there I think it is has the West Cork/Kerry spirit and character.
Those priests know which side their bread is buttered, make no mistake,on both fecking sides! Great film,Richard Harris makes you think you are watching real events that happened to him which touched the core of his soul, that's the high quality of his acting,a flawless performance ably supported by a gifted cast and production team, thanks for posting this gem.
I think the Americans did not like it because he killed the Yank. If it had been the same as the book (where it was an English Man) he would have got the Oscar.

i own a small flower bed on my balcony of my tower block in ballymun, and if anyone stepped foot on it they would die. we need more bull mccabes in the emerald isle these days.
I'm from a Farming background in the West of Ireland and I agree.....The Land is Blood.......n we have sealed too much Irish Blood in Our Land to ever forget......We'll get our country back.....(32)
It surely is along with a scene no Irishman should ever forget...any True Irishman anyway.......the Outsiders scene in the bar.......Eireann go Breath.....
I agree with you. The outsiders scene is a great one also. This scene is however closer to my heart as I am a farmer, my parents being small farmers from the west of Ireland originally. I understand every word he says, LAND IS BLOOD.!

Why is the priest always an asshole to the Bull?
DEACONFROST11 8 months ago
the catholic church always sided with the wealthy. they were the 'high and mighty' of the repressive society we once had.
saoirse632 6 months ago 3
@saoirse632 That happened but for most of the 300 years the faith was the only thing that kept the Irish from going under.
