Im not happy with this performance, they dont play many of the overdubs during the melodic chorus. I understand its hard, especially with vocals added in, but then again bands like Necrophagist rip it up flawlessly on stage.

Okay. What had happened, as said by Matt himself was that during the tour, Travis took a leave of absence to do we don't know what. In the mean time, they had Nick play for Travis as their fill-in drummer. They thought they found a new spark, and with tensions growing within the band, they kicked Travis out. So they called him up and told him he was being replaced. Like I said, as said by Matt Heafy himeself in an interview. They had it posted on their myspace. So if you dont believe me, go look

There's no official reason because thats personal and the members of the band wanted to keep it to themselves, but what we do know is that it was something to do with Travis getting married and wanting to spend time with his family.

I am glad to see that Matt & Corey dropped the Dean guitars, and went back to what they played in the beginning. One of the best live shows I've ever been to was on the Shogun tour.....AMAZING! My Hatred is my personal fave song, but really......have they written any bad ones? Even the stuff from "The Crusade" is good. As for Trivium vs. Slipknot.....No contest. Slipknot just pussed out and went commercial, so they're bigger....not better!

There's no melody at all in Slipknot's works, barely even solos.
And then they think they're fucking hardcore with the masks and the getup. Corpse paint is OK for real black metal bands who justify it, but Slipknot does it for what reason? They're not hardcore, they never will be, but I understand that they don't want to show their faces so people would laugh at them on the street for the shitty "music" they make.
Stone Sour is ok! It shows Corey's real talent that is clean singing, hands down he sucks at screaming but in Stone Sour it sounds really great. Not to mention that the band actually has some melody to it.

Finnish people know metal. And it's been proven a thousand times already that all the slipknot fans are in lower elementary school... meaning grades 1-6. 7th graders listen to Metallica and then they get to know other bands.
Slipknot really is some mediocre bashing with no melody. The singer is even one of the worst of the genre. He doesn't scream, he doesn't sing. Corey Taylor fuckin' yells.

@Daputti so if im 22 and i still like slipknot that means what? and corey taylor does yell yes. but it fits the music they do. trivium are just a band who copy other people's music and styles. im still lost as to how they made a name for themselves after the crusade came out. ascendancy was a brilliant album. it was heavy, fast and different. then they just started making albums to try and sell more records and get more money. you shouldnt try and do that. it happens if the music is good.

Shogun is almost as good as Ascendancy, and Shattering the Skies Above is the direction they're going next. Which is even heavier than Ascendancy.
Matt had problems with his voice during The Crusade just like Corey has had over the years.

What the hell do you hear in Slipknot that I don't? It's seriously just that typical "stereotype metal" where Joey bashes on the drums as hard and fast as he can and Corey "screams" on it, which almost sounds like fucking rapping. That's nu-metal ok. There's no melody at all in Slipknot's works, barely even solos.

And then they think they're fucking hardcore with the masks and the getup. Corpse paint is OK for real black metal bands who justify it, but Slipknot does it for what reason? They're not hardcore, they never will be, but I understand that they don't want to show their faces so people would laugh at them on the street for the shitty "music" they make.

Stone Sour is ok! It shows Corey's real talent that is clean singing, hands down he sucks at screaming but in Stone Sour it sounds really great. Not to mention that the band actually has some melody to it.
