  • Awesome! I would love to play a game with you, you would most likely destroy me but it would be an honour!

  • i've been training this drills quite some times.. thanks to you dean.. Cue ball control is much more better now... seems i see your using more stun shot for the last drill... :)

    More more.. :)

    Shooting with a P2.. :)

  • What's cool about your videos is that you don't act like an ass or a know-it-all. I learn better from people like you Dean. MORE VIDEOS!

  • Thanks..... nice comment

  • How long have you started playing pool Dean? And thank you so much for your tips, they're great. I should do another video, talking only about the brigdes (request from me)!

  • I've been playing pool since I was old enough to stand on an apple box at the tender age of 8. I could run the table, of course using a bridge most of the time and won my Dad lots of money! I will suggest your request to my producer.

    Thanks for watching,

    Dean

  • I will add to others in saying that I appreciate you taking time to record and upload many of these skillful instructional videos for those of us learning. Thank you.

You mentioned before that the closed bridge was for use when executing "draw" shots. In this video you used an open bridge to still achieve some significant back spin on the Q ball.

I have trouble achieving a smooth stroke with the closed bridge, yet cannot get backspin with the cue ball normally. Is there another ingredient?

  • good question; I should say that a closed or open bridge can be used no matter what shot your shooting. It's a matter of preference. I was mistaken so disregard that statement. When I'm shooting hard with crazy english or draw, I will close my bridge just in case my cue jumps, not always but sometimes, hope this helps.

    Thanks

    Dean

  • Your videos are great! Do you have a book and if you dont, what are some good pool books for beginers?

  • Good Idea?? I just might start writing a book for beginner pool players, of course it may take some time and I'll have to do some research around the world, the pool game rules change from country to country. Thanks

  • I have a queston, with your second drill you put alot of stroke on your shot and yet i dident see alot of draw, i play with a meucci Fr-3 and i get a ton of draw out of mine is it your tip? or is it your cue, im also curious on what type of cue you have

  • Nice Cue you have, I do play with a couple custom cues and my backup is my Viking with a basic triangle tip. I feel that you can do anything with a well balanced cue and a good tip, it's really about your technique, yes stroke is key in getting a ton of draw, I show this on my DVD. Thanks for your comment

  • ALWAYS REMBER TO USE ENGLISHH!!

  • what kind of tip should I be using for my shooting cue? and can i jump with my 2 piece break cue it doesn't have the cut off to shorten it.

  • Not recommended to break with your shooting cue, If you can get yourself a second cue "Jump/Break" with a Phenolic Cue Tip just for breaking and jumping, this will also save your shooting cue. Good Luck

    Dean "Dean's Pool Tips"

  • No problem

    Dean

  • Yes, you are correct, this is a drill that I need to practice much more, it might even impove your game mate.... good luck

    Dean

  • hahahahahaha.... way to throw it back at a jerk and still be polite about it.

  • Thanks - I try to be simple about it, I would like to do more vids and explain a little better next time, thanks for watching

    Dean "Dean's Pool Tips"

  • Tip: avoid English if possible.

Both drills can and should be done with follow, stun, and draw only.

  • Correct, many ways to shoot and don't "Get Fancy" sometimes we overthink the shot when we could keep it simple.
