This dude is sort of a random shape Dark Matter decides to take when fighting Kirby. After being defeated, he turns into his eyeball form. But even though he looks like that most of the time, it is still not his real form. The eyeballs are just part of a giant hive-mind like form of energy.

@TheShadowCookie Are you sure it's random? Look at the pattern on the inner edge of his robes. Looks a bit like Dedede's belt-thing, right? Drawcia also has a similar pattern on her along with the purple scarf thing. Speaking of which, her theme and the Dark Matter you fight right after the samurai form have simmilar intros. It's all coming together now....Nightmare nerver died! (that last part might not be true, but it makes it all seem epic....er)

Here's How it happened:

Dark Matter is a Fiend. Kirby Destroyed Darkmatter and reincarnated himself into Zero (Next Game)

After That, He takes over a planet called ripple star to revive himself because he is just a big ball of dark energy.

After You collect all the shards, Dark Matter revives himself again only to become 02.

Dark Matter and 0(2) are two seperate beings.

Dark Matter are the creatures, one of which is the cloaked figure in Dreamland 2.

O is the one in control of all Dark Matter.

In Dreamland 3, O used the Dark Matter to take over Pop Star, being jealous of how happy they are and he can only feel pain.

The Dark Matter from Dreamland 2 must've been either a stray cloud or some sort of scout for O.

In Kirby 64, O ressurects himself into O2, probably using the energy from the crystals.

Remember how it was basically a progression among the 3 games that shared that storyline. the series went from a single "attack party", so to speak, and went into a full scale invasion by the time kirby 64 started.

This form also looks the most badass, but it's the earliest (and if you can put it that way; the weakest) dark matter form. It goes from Dark Warrior (DL2) to Dark Matter (DL2 and 3) Miricle Matter (Kirby 64) to Zero (DL3) to 0-2 (64).
