You say in this video that the new TRV replaces the lockshield valve. ( and therefore presumably it is not taking the place of the existing radiator valve ). Is this correct?
Hi, I have a trv and the pin doesn't move at all. It appears to be fully up but the rad doesn't heat up? tried bleeding it and no air comes out, just water. Can you suggest anything? Many thanks, great videos, very helpful!
@ThePelan76 The pin or button that the stat presses will be stuck, give it a (very) gentle tap with a hammer or use pliers to get it moving up and down again, a bit of wd40 won't be wasted either.
TRV's are not as good as you would expect them to be for the price, the actual temperature control, (if you could call it that) only works on 2 setting, on or off. Too high a number makes no difference, and too low a number keeps the rad cold. There is another problem with TRV's as well, which you will discover when you use them.
If you want to effectively regulate the temperature of a rad in a bedroom say, use the bog standard lockshield valves to restrict the flow and return to the rad.
Another good one mate!! Firstly, nice legs by the way; last time I seen skinny legs like that there was a message tied to one!!
TRV's; should where ever possible be fitted with the head on the horizontal plain, away from the radiator.............Fit it like you did & you'll get heat from the rad, it'll shut it down too quick.
@TheDickPuller As ever thanks for keeping me on my toes! I tend to ask the customer which way round they want it (and of course tell them the pros and cons)
I better get down the gym and start working on my legs! Catch ya later 'puller!
Great tutorial .. like the close up shots you get to see exactly whats going on ... A great help .
