  • @dorinvladstefan

    Pond water.

    ---

Cat's CPU is going crazy right now.

  • Hi dude, I've been trying to find some living bugs, at least like the one in your video, but my projections seem to be... lifeless. There are alot of dust particles, hair and textile, but no living organisms. What do you suggest?

  • Pro-tip: To rotate the drop of water, just blow on it.

  • Sometimes i see this on my eye surface, when looking in a entirely bright surface, like watching the grey sky. after a while i can see things moving.

  • @Reneator They are floaters.

  • kitty!!!!!!!!

  • Your cat is like "omfg the green dot is bigger!" must get! lso what are thes moving dots that make the green go away?

  • Yeah, thumbs up for the cat!

  • @DanFrederiksen i heard curiosity killed a cat

  • wow!

  • i had stumbled this, but this is fucking amazing. i love how your cat was intrigued by this

  • Awesome ... yea the cat being amused makes it better to enjoy together

  • thecat seems to be having fun

  • aww curious kitty : )

  • algae ?

  • Cat: fuck me-ow, this is some bad acid, meow.

  • The world is scary...

  • at the end of the video i realized that i was just looking at the cat the whole time

  • i didn't know microscopic cats existed. time to investigate by making my own laser projection microscope.

  • This makes me think that maybe miniaturized cats could be used to fight infection and cancer.

  • Can this be done with a lower powered laser (the video uses 250mW)...

Like could I use a 200mW or 100mW? I ask because I'm considering using this demo in a classroom setting. It is very awesome.

  • So I'm guessing that the water drop acted as a lens to blow the picture up to that size? It's a cool experiment in any case!

  • Absolutely brilliant effect, particularly from such simple equipment. If I had a laser at home I'd set it up to show my nephew and niece. Also it's obviously a great way to entertain your cat - I love those pointed ears moving about at the bottom!

  • Grenadier, you've got some very nice experiments - love them - cheers!

  • Lol that cat is tripping balls.

  • @stupidkids911

Not fake, I just did this last night with near identical results. Very cool.

  • @stupidkids911

Not fake, just did it myself with near identical results.

  • Bananas are radioactive...

  • @PsykraM

    Only very slightly so.

  • @PsykraM yeah, last girl I nailed said I had a radioactive banana

  • @PsykraM Brazil nuts are more. Yet I LOOOOVE jack fruit and brazil nuts.I wonder if you eat so much you will get radiation poisoning. well they don't sell it in america so nly when I make the biyearly trip to india I can get any

  • To TeravoltOrg, check this site out: unitednuclear*dot*com/

  • Why do you want uranium, are you a terrorist?

  • @locouk

    Nope, just collect radioactive things.

  • @TeravoltOrg That isn't really a healty hobby, can't you collect something a bit safer?

  • @TeravoltOrg you collect bananas/

  • I love the cat watching the microbes crawling around the ceiling.

  • YEAH MR. WHITE! YEAH SCIENCE!

  • These are probably protozoans and not bacteria.

Right? Maybe i'm wrong, but I didn't think bacteria could move so fluidly and were so responsive and uh..."intelligent" if you can even use that word to describe a single cell.

Do correct me if I'm wrong.

  • @apopheniacMCMLXXXIX

You're right, but the majority of people on youtube don't know what a protozoan is.

  • Maybe if we paired it with a red laser pointer of similar power we could simulate 3D!

  • you gotta love the cat

  • Hmm, with a finer wave length I would assume less diffraction trouble? I think.... you can only resolve an object half the wavelength; something like that? Time to whip out the blue beast! Or you could have some real fun with daphnia.

  • @JohnChivez daphnia and hydras :D

  • damnn

  • That cat is making the vid.

  • The kitty watchig is the best part!

  • Your cat seems absolutely fascinated.

  • Your cat seems absolutely fascinated.

  • Thanks.

I've put this on my blog

    lookyhere.co.za

  • The cat head makes this video :)

  • Try UnitedNuclear to get some hard to find materials.

  • EPIC CAT!!!!

  • Wow, that is very cool! I got to try it with my fountain water. It has all sorts of animals like little crustaceans and flatworms.

  • Greetings to everyone at MITERS :)

  • Will this work with a red laser pointer/

  • @leobaby

Not with any cheap 5mW one it won't! You'll need something stronger. It may work with a 50 or 100mW one, but it won't be nearly as bright as a green laser.

  • Oh i see, the laser still have to be powerful enough to be able to heat up the water huh

  • Can you try semen next?

  • This video is going to cause a helluva lot of people to stop drinking water. Not me though.

Maybe get a sample of water that has been boiled and introduce a tiny amount of dried yeast. id say that it would be worth a look....

  • Why is the laser not burning those bacteria though

They are too small to be affected by lasers?

  • @jinsi

    The water keeps them cool.

  • That cat is like "I can haz lazer"

  • @flooodis

    No he's not...

  • cool, now try semen.

  • The cat is like "Water-dewellers! silence -- I keel you!"

  • Ooh this is awesome.

  • woah

  • No need ever more for stupid lava lamps. THIS IS IT!!!

  • Disgusting. Moar please. With different liquids.

  • what I am amazed is, how do those specks of life know how to move around?! How do they move around at all!? What makes them move?

  • @kamathln

    1) They don't know anything at all. They're just swimming in circles.

    2) Cilia

    3) Same things that make you move. ATP chain reactions.

  • @TeravoltOrg naw dude, it's obviously god.

  • @TeravoltOrg I take it by Cillia you mean Flagella.

  • if u are really interested in this type of thing, you should take up microbiology in high school or college, which opens up to even cooler stuff.

  • @kamathln They have a number of sensory abilities just like higher creatures. Typically they use chemical detectors to try to find whatever they're hankering for (or avoid things they don't like!).

  • Three things I'm missing right now, a green laser pointer, a cat, and a girlfriend.

  • at least the cat has fun and is busy

  • The cat somehow makes this video so much better.

  • Leeuwenhoek microscope projector! Cool!

  • I love the cat at the bottom :)

  • Very cool!!

  • My God!... There is a cat trapped in that drop of water!

  • Awesome video, good work, I need to try this someday

  • Incredible,

    I admire the simplicity !

  • not bacteria, but paramecia

  • @nibjb

    ಠ_ಠ

  • Where are they all going?

  • @NAmeThAtSong144

They don't know. Bacteria aren't conscious.

  • Define "dirty water" ?

  • @BarabaChaos93

    Water from a plant

  • @TeravoltOrg

    A philodendron?

    Sorry. Couldn't resist that.

  • @SilverRedIndigo

    A Chlorophytum comosum.

  • @TeravoltOrg

    :0)

I was kidding because I didn't know if you meant a treatment plant or a plant plant.

  • KITTY WANTS TO PLAY WITH BACTERIA!
