I have been doing this for about 5 years and it saved my hair. I wash it at night, towel dry it, and then put it back when it is wet in one french twist. Then I shake it out in the morning and let the rest air dry and put in a tiny drop of frizz serum.
I have naturally poofy, frizzy, wavy hair.... and this gives me awesome bed head, beachy curls. :)
I use Garnier Fructise's Sleek and shine shampoo and conditioner to make my hair look like hers(: I also use their shine spray and curl shaping spray gel for this look :) good luck!
I saw this other girl do the same on the top, french twisting it, but when the bottom comes, take one last strange of hair and create a braid with the other to strands. Then you wouldn't worry about the twists falling out or being too lose. The results, believe me, are just awesome! Very perfect beachy waves! I strongly recommend all of you to try it! Sorry YaYa, I'm not trying to go against you're tutorial, it's great already! I'm just not as good with hair as you are so I take the easier way:p
I LOOOOOOOOOOVE doing this! the only difference is that i french twist it right after i come out of the shower (so its sopping wet). I find it gives me looser waves <3 and this was sooooooooo easy to do(:
Omg! This looks SO great on me! It turned out a little driffent for me, because I took the wist and cliped it up on my head! No frizzyness, and I actually like it better ^^ It works better for me, thank you so much for sharing this.
It looks great on short hair too, like collar bone length. :] It's a perfect for summer because it's really bohemian looking, and fall/winter because it has that classy wave look.
Mine looked more crimped too, I suspect because my hair is thinner so my "twists" were thinner...I'm going to re-try this some other time using just one twist instead of two. =) Thanks!
I love it! I can't do anything to my hair without putting heat to it, but for the first today, I'm wearing my hair down without putting 400 degrees to it. Thanks ^_^
If people are having trouble obtaining results or are struggling with the braiding technique, the very first video I HAVE EVER SAW introducing this new way to braid is from steff88love. I know Yaya did a pretty good job and Im not here to boast about steff, but seeing comments here make me realize people are having a bit of trouble lol
im a hair dresser.... and i must say, i loooove ur ideas! im not gonna lie, i dont share these secrets to my clients cuz ill loose my job! haha.. but love it n very cute!
i'm so excited to try this tonight (: do the ends look weird and straight like if they were when you french braid it? 'cause whenever i sleep in braids, it's always crimped.. and then bam. straight ends.
@MakiheartsMac it sorta looks like it but it actually doesnt. because it this looks more of loopy waves.
if u dont like how it turns out , sometimes mine doesnt came out the way i wanted it to , i use a 1/3 inch curling iron & wrap a few pieces of my hair around it.
@MakiheartsMac I french twist my hair all the time! and you may have done the twist to tight cause thats what happens to me! try it a littl loser for more of a non crimped look! :) hope i helped!
@MakiheartsMac I think, Its the ammount of dampness your hair had in it, if u put 2 much water it goes to a differnt kind of curl, if you make it the right ammount of water, just so it is damp (Not wet) It will b like it
Im just guessing by the times ive tried 2 to this srry if im wrong though
tried this but because i recently had my hair thinned out it came out pretty frizzy like a french braid~can't wait for it to grow! so pretty on you though
I just did this to my hair and i'm gonna go to bed now :D so hopefully... mine turns out ok. I do have to say.. (coming from someone who has never french braided their own hair in their life.. i've never hardly worn ponytails, gosh D:) this was the hardest thing for me to figure out i had to try like 10 times on each side lol! I had fun learning though :D
Hi Yaya! i just wanted to tell you that I've already tried this more than 3 times, and it's so absolutely fail-proof! Every time I braid with this style, my hair comes out in beautiful waves the next morning. Wonderful tutorial!
This is my favorite heat free wave tutorial! I have shoulder length hair with layers and this had amazing results. Not as many loose ends, or as crimpy looking as braids. I don't have the hang of twisting the ends as fast as you do though! The best part is that the twists can be a normal hairstyle if you don't mind looking a little young. I never got the hang of french braiding, so I'm very happy that you had such a good tutorial for the twists. I can actually do it! Haha. Thanks!
I did this and it turned out amazing! The only problem is I can't do it again because the bottom part keeps untwisting :( any tip? Because I did that whole twist away from the face thing and it still untwisted.
I love your heat free tutorials! cuz thats they way i prefer to do my hair, get it done whilst sleeping. so thanks you for all your help and great ideas! i can have variety now instead of just french braid crimps! x :)
i wish you could have dont this tutorial sooner. i cant do the french braid method because it made my hair look frizzy so i got permed. .... and it doesnt even wavy beautifully great vid!
take Biotin vitamins! take an appropriate amount a day as instructed by the bottle after a meal. i've been taking it for about three months now and i've seen a significant difference! my hair normally grows really slow too! it's also god for your skin, nails, and metabolism.
