Just watched the Beat at the Rebellion festival 2007 (Blackpool). Great set, but whats with the keep fit routine! At times it was embarrasing. it was like watching a speeded up version of Ian Brown for 45mins.

Hi london girl65, met Dave the first time in Portland, OR. and then at this show in Seattle. Lynval is a dear friend mine so that's how it happend. Got to met Madness when Lynval played with them in Seattle as well.. what times.. Lyvnal is in London right now recording with Pama International and some other things he's doing too.. and I agree Stand Down Margaret is a gem! I have lots of other vids from shows but haven't got around to it, shame on me... all the best and thanks for your comments.

No prob.. a down day here.. yeah Suggs is a cool cat indeed. I was in my teens as well and The English Beat, (as they were called over here" and Maddness were a huge part of the "New Wave" movement as it's refered to here. Anyway Those were the days! Glad they're still giving us great music.

Hey Londongirl, just an fyi, Dave is VERY approachable and kind. He never forgets a face either. I have met him a few times and every time he remembers me and where we last saw one another! It was often played at university Tory club disco's much to the annoyance of the Tories and the vast amusement of everyone else. I'd like to hear it again if anyone's got it.
