No one is dismissing those points you're making, in fact most people would agree with you.Those neighborhoods that you referred to-- I lived in as a young child and again later on while attending college in NY. Immigration problems are last on the list of what plagues these areas, there is a lack of economic expansion because most companies either moved out for tax reasons or outsourced those jobs to non-americans which is the real issue at play here.

In Los Angeles some residents can't even get access to fresh produce to keep the diabetes epidemic at bay because corporations don't like opening shop in high crime areas. Another note about LEGAL immigration. The early English settlers made treaties with the indians. that's why 3/4 of the land in the USA is still considered Sovereign indian territory in international laws.

Those other illegal groups aren't the ones who are targeted by crime related to the drug trade. That Afghanistan heroin and South American cocaine comes across the Mexican border. The violence disproportionately takes the lives of minorities. Those with criminal histories are not jumping through immigration hoops and they are making inner cities violent due to the drug trade/war/MS13, etc. The difference is in the security aspect. The drug cartel largely follows minorities because minorities are more likely to be poor. Poor people are more likely to take narcotics and the illegal narcotics trade feeds on that. No one is dismissing those points you're making, in fact most people would agree with you.Those neighborhoods that you referred to-- I lived in as a young child and again later on while attending college in NY. In Los Angeles some residents can't even get access to fresh produce to keep the diabetes epidemic at bay because corporations don't like opening shop in high crime areas. And the crime is associated with the drug war, and the drug trade is facilitated over the border whether you live in LA or Chicago. The economic problems are a result of the loss of stability just as developing countries in Africa torn by war lack economic expansion. Outsourcing is part of the picture but not the entire one.

The reason a lot of people are "weak" on borders is because America is already a nation of immigrants and some of us tend to be sympathetic to immigrants. Some of us are also aware that current immigration laws are so convoluted and screwed-up that many poor immigrants come in "illegally" because the legal method is too expensive for most.

I wasn't insulting your grammar. It was a thought that came to my head in general after years of seeing posts that are cryptic due to all sorts of grammar errors. The thought came into my head that people from other countries often have better English when they post in English than many people who have lived here their whole lives.

No, its quite informed. You can file all paperwork yourself. It costs less than the process for becoming a citizen.
We were talking about legal entry...not about transfer or applicability of educational standards. Lost of stories out the about quite educated folks who came here legally and rebuilt all credentials.

Not at all, it's very expensive. Just ask my friend and his family who are legal immigrants. Visas are hard to come by.

There are many extended court costs and other costs necessary for it. Our immigration system is very complex. That's why most legal immigrants almost invariably are low-income.

It is not expensive, there are not any court costs if you are not a former criminal...and there are reasons for limiting visas for any ability level.
That being said...immigration today is far more about RCC seeding than about any valid need for talent...especially amonst the low-income.
The issue is not low v high wage earners...its just another front of Inquisition and Counter Reformation, writ Global.

Tens of thousands of immigrants go through these courts each year. There are background checks required to become a US citizen.
There are only 5,000 visas available every year. Yet there are obviously more than 5,000 people trying to immigrate to the US every year. Obviously that's going to cause a huge shortage.

Of course...if those involved had ANY character whatsoever...they would long ago have bought south weaponry easily found on this side of the border, and by dint of blood and effort secure their own rights in their own land.

I know what you mean. I know of several illegals (construction) who live here and make up excuses as to why they can't become a citizen and yet I know of 2 Russian families who moved here one at at time, sometimes taking years for Russia to allow there family members exit , coming here, becoming legal citizens, working, paying taxes and are very successful. I think it's all about how easy it is to leave and come back. If we secured our borders I bet more would become citizens legally.
