@thetubefan11 The only limit on 2009 stock power at the moment is the current draw - that's limited. You'll have to wait for the subsection gaps to be changed to see that.
I think they should do 62mph on the longer stretches like Seven sisters to Finsbury park. However 50mph is quite slow when the Jubilee line can go up to 62mph on some steches between stations.
@MKIIProductions 50mph isn't that fast. A stock used to run 70, but you'd be right on the speed ish on the Victoria; the 2009 tube stock is supposed to go to 50mph and can quite easily get that.
They are geared for acceleration rather than speed, as it's no good gearing for 100mph because you'd struggle to hit 40 between stations!
@CJ19Productions You'd have a Higher Priority in acceleration than in Speed. Acceleration Gets you to speed, then is kept constant. Rather than having a 70 Mph average speed whilist you're going 100Mph and taking longer to get to that speed- Therefore acceleration is key.
Will the 2009 stocks power be increased under the new signaling system?

@wangtong04 It would be good, but the acceleration would be rather compromised. If only they'd gone for 100% motored axle...

Thanks for your extensive footage of the tube doors, thank god I know what they look like!

@richbdd01 There were passengers in the seats around.. hence the doors.

Ah i see.
subway007 1 year ago
@subway007 They can actually do 50 max.
CJ19Productions 1 year ago
dam these trains must be doing 50 mph lol
subway007 1 year ago
@subway007 IIRC these can do 62. But they are capped to 'match' the 67s at the moment.

@subway007 50 mph is farily quick for a tube stock. Victoria line's speed is only around 45~50 mph.

I see what you're saying. Thanks for the tip!

@MKIIProductions Higher average speed is important yes, and that makes the inter-station times faster.
With the distances on these lines you'd struggle to get 70.. at some stations you'd be lucky to hit 35!
