  • Never heard of her before. Listening to Bert Jansch & Wizz Jones got me here, & she is great. Where do people like this hide for so long?

  • Surely to see her and Nick Drake playing on the same night would've been a truly mind-blowing experience! Beautiful...

  • I picked up an album of hers at a car boot sale last week, Songs For The Gentle Man, and have had it on just about 24/7 since, it's powerful, gets right into yer bones.

  • a great voice ... agree with the Peel references ... a good post and lovely to hear her ... do not forget to look for ... Lesley Duncan ( r.i.p. ) .. all the best from Glasgow

  • Nice. She is playing live near me (Bristol) in two weeks time. I am looking forward to seeing her live.

  • More beautiful music I discovered through John Peel.

  • my first ever gig was Bridget at London Uni. Has anyone been to Sparrowpit ? One pub (great Robinsons beer) and 2 minutes to walk through it - lovely part of the UK though

  • Thanks for posting this.I have her vinyl LP from the 1970's "Jumblequeen" and have never seen any video of her performing before.

  • oooohhhhh. reeeeeeally gr8 to see her live from the early days. she was a gifted song writer, imho.

  • Very beautiful....

  • Gentleness personified.

  • I too, saw her in Chippenham on 4th April 2009. She played both solo, and with Michael Chapman. I was so moved I wrote my very first Myspace blog about it. Beautiful, beautiful music.

  • Finally saw her live in Chippenham on 4th April 2009. Never thought I would. Just great.

  • fantastic voice ... listened for 35 yrs ... Fab ...bravo to poster

  • Ahh! Who did Danny Thompson NOT play with?

He didn't play with anyone who wasn't awesome, that's for sure. And if someone is awesome, chances are, he played with them.

It's funny how uncomfortable he looks playing a bass guitar... On upright he's as animated as can be, but here, he pretty much stares down at his hands.

  • That hypnotic voice mesmerised me 40 years ago and still does.

  • completley and utterly brilaoint

    no. thqt'w wrong.

    gemma arterton????

  • Without words....

  • Excellent

  • I saw her live in 1973 - supporting John Martin - her best song in my opinion is ''fly high''

  • investigate album number one, for a start.

  • Brill. Fab. Wonderful. Thanks Lizardson for this. Im over the moon. Damian.

  • Yes, the 2nd. guitarist is the totally wondrous ISAAC GUILLORY, alas, no longer with us. Many details about him on YT, Google etc. (Isaac is here aboard his Martin D35S guitar - for the enthusiasts out there!)

Thank you for this posting, lizardson. I have bee hoping this would appear from someone for a LONG time!

  • thank you so much for this. wish more of her songs were on youtube. she deserves much more attention than she has received.

  • Short and sweet but that's the beauty of so many of Bridget's songs. She is truly the most under-appreciated songwriter I can think of, just genius.

Pretty sure that's Danny Thompson on the bass. Any idea about the 2nd guitarist?
