I've never seen a race in any other country where the horses held their heads up with mouths open like this, besides Mongolia where the nomads ride with bits made out of a pieces of bone. @purosaxdechihuahua I know how to race horses and when they throw their head up, open their mouth, and have a wild outline they are uncomfortable, maybe in pain. When you want the horse to run fast you don't pull back on the reins! you give the horse rein and encourage it forward.

But you are right about one thing. I don't know anything about abusive counterproductive Mexican horse racing.

My point is that the jockey was pulling on the rein due to the fact that the other horse stumbled at the start; So there was no point of giving the horse rein and therefore running fast. In case he would of ran the horse at full speed all the way; The horse would of reacted the same way when pulling on the rain in order for the horse to stop; Throwing their head up and ect. It's not like he was going to get of the horse at mid race!
