I can't wait to go to OSUT MP training, it looks liuke a blast, my husband is a 13F and he had fun at his training too. It looks like after BCT in the seond part of training you are allowed to wear your civilian glasses instead of BCGs lol thank goodness. @skilletfan09 If you go to basic you won't be a slow runner for long. If you're overweight basic training will be very hard for you. To start you need to be able to run a mile in 8:30. I went into basic running a mile in 7:30 and came out running one in 5:45. Your actual PT test will be a 2 mile run 15:54 is the slowest passing time for 18-21 year olds.

MPs need tolearn all the basics, just like Civillian police do, because when not over seas, thats their job, on base they police, so they need to learn to direct traffic, especially if they end up on Ft. Hood, Ft. Lewis, ect.

They arent the most liked people, but they do their job. They are about as liked as Infantry, Special Forces, Rangers, and Cavalry

NOW, they are part of the Armor division, They are just like Riflemen and infantry for the Armor division, getting deployed with stryker units.

Think of them as scouts...

@Captus15 Cavalry Scouts (19D) provide battlefield reconnaisance to the commander. They essentially provide scout teams to observe enemy positions before the main units arrive. THey are the front of the front lines. THAT is the conventional war definition, however during an urban campaign such as ours in Iraq, they provide an infantry type duty and may still be directed to assist in large scale operations and often do recon of areas not observed or patroled normally.

Because not everyone submits to a breathalizer. A driver can refuse to submit to a breathalizer so you have to have other means to determine if the driver is impaired or not. Also many states have a driving while impaired charge which is different than driving while intoxicated. A driver may pass a breathalizer but if it can be determined that they are still too impaired to drive they can be charge with driving while impaired. Particularly with drug usage which won't show on a breathalizer.

depends what branch you are in... but basically youre asvab score has to be high enough, pass boot camp, (in the Marines you also have to go through combat training first. I don't know about the army.), make it through this training. Then you're in.

I have a friend who is the leader of a police special response unit (not quite SWAT, but they handle the stuff too dangerous for patrols). They are really tough guys, but even he says the Feldjäger (german MP) are crazy guys. They don't have any problems even handling a bunch drunken soldiers with special close combat training. They just knock them out stone cold.
