@alanshunter Never mind watching them, WE wanna be going out DOING them, Spring has sprung, and hope springs eternal (feel a song comin' on), now is the time. Well, not now, but when the weather improves. The last few years we've had some great weather early on, we want to make the most of every opportunity.
@alanshunter The UK is OUR Oyster........ha ha, just one fly in the ointment......Gideon Osborne is about to raise duty on Fuel again, fucking robbing bastards, all that Duty and then VAT on top............We are all being taken for the mug.
@freesailer Try some Spinach.........ha ha, or Pep pills. If you know where the tidal stream runs, you can have a very easy day, 3.5 mph without paddling. Only trouble is, you're offshore, and away from all the 'action' as it were. If you want to really see what the tide does, observe from South Stack on a calm day. On a spring tide, the stream takes a wider track, so inshore it can actually result in weaker streams close inshore....
ay up frank, got me kayak on order,,p&h scorpio with compass and rudder...cant wait to get me arse in it......I was just wondering what gps do you use? is it a home made neoprene mount....ie have you made it yourself and stitched it to your spray deck?
Plus got any more vids coming soon? your pal jez/// be great to meet up for a paddel some day when yer up on the west coast of scotland again :-)
@delboyjdf Tried sending you a personal message, you need to be a friend to receive.I will definitely be up Scotland at some stage. The GPS is a Garmin GPS 72,and is mounted in a neoprene elbow support, stitched on the spraydeck, need to be careful with them,as they are not 100% waterproof, and if it gets rough,it goes in the day hatch or a waterproof bag.
We did the walk at a 3.30 hour leisurely pace starting from South Stack steps over to North Stack Fog Signal buildings. Gravel & stone paths sided by heather & jagged outcrops. Old ruins en-route. Saw lots climbers.
We were just in our scruffs, no fancy pants (ahem), but I would reckon good boots are essential.. or at very least comfy tough footwearthat yer feet are well used to wearing. Brand new stuff bought that morning not good
@WiresAnSteel You Sir are the epitome of great taste ha ha ,Yes I often wonder what it's like to be up there walking, and have indeed been up there, and can confirm(as you already know) how good it is,but on a calm sunny day, nothing compares with paddling a sea kayak out there, and this trip is without a shadow, one of the best.
@stevenatleven As we all know,it's all about the weather and conditions, these two were done early on in the year March/April,and surprisingly probably better than most of the summer.
The camera is on a "ball and socket" that you can buy from Jessops or any camera shop for about a tenner, this is then screwed to the top of the black deck-bag,you may be able to see it when the camera has an"out of boat experience" as it were,it gives a lovely, smooth picture that is in harmony with the prevailing conditions. I'm just uploading another video - "Anglesey Cathedral Cave" just a short one.
Another great afternoon paddling with Frank, it feels like you are in the boat ! great commentary, always informative, never boring - loved the camera on a stick on some of them ( ? ) I presume it's on some sort of fixed mount / tripod on the boat as it's so steady ? How about making one of the boat and all the gear you carry ? Kids still out - I think I'll watch another !!!
Angelsey? ANGELSEY? Bloody hell Frank.....that's AMAZIN! Had many holidays on Angelsey, and I don't even know the place. Crackin' video.

Quality video, sharp images great detail & labelling. You've captured some fascinating un-reachable views for walkers.
We're going to scramble between the stacks this afternoon.
Oh, nicely narrated, no hoss :)
