  • looks like its about to rain

  • i've been looking for a ford f100 but cant find one in my price range and i've found a m100 for a good price. are the m100 considered a knock off of the f100 or do they have a good name.

i really like the look of the m100 but it seems like the f100's are more admirable.

    really nice truck btw

  • hi can you make more vids for this kinda cool

  • Duh you can't put a Detroit diesel in a Ford? You need the Powerstroke....

  • @Razorblade119 sure you can. can put a cummins or caterpillar in there too. anythign is possible. that is if your pockets are deep enough.

  • @yamahonkawazuki I'm sure you can. It was a reference to the fact Ford employs the Powerstroke, not the Detroit diesel. In my opinion I think this truck would be a whole lot cooler with the 7.3l Powerstroke.

  • @Razorblade119 or perhaps a GOOD 6.0 i can see that. im a bit of a purist myself. and a diesel freak lol. a purist as in ford in ford etc chevy in chevy

  • @yamahonkawazuki Glad I'm not the only one.... :)

  • @Razorblade119 a purist i may be. this person did a helluva job Eh?

  • @yamahonkawazuki Yeah! It was probably a HUGE pain in the ass.

  • @Razorblade119 its not hte first tiem ive seen this trucks video. i do hope theres at least a finished job video of it. IMHO this sits a tad too low though. unless you live on/near some really flat realestate

  • @yamahonkawazuki Trucks aren't supposed to ride low, that's why they're trucks.....

  • @Razorblade119 good point. kinda ruins its haulin capabilities. would love to see that detroit working. see what shecan do

  • That's the lowest F1 I've ever seen.

  • Hell Yeah!

  • bring that thing off the ground and give her some bigger tires!

  • I could lend u a bit of time should u be short of

  • GUN IT!!!!

  • bet that sounds sweeet at 2500rpm

  • Comment removed

  • ok that is a sweet truck buy why did you lower it? i mean come on put a detroit in it and lower it that is pretty dumb

  • almost fell alseep during that amazingly fast paced video, but otherwise nice truck.

  • dieselsandDiodes,717-776-7725-fax#717 776-4127---leid dieselthey have been in business fir yrs, they specialize in detroits, great to work with-----

  • Ok guys answer me this in my dirt bike I have to mix oil with the gas....But do diesel two strokes require a oil mix? The reason I ask is technically diesel is considered a fuel oil (it's one step from oil)..

  • No, you don't mix oil with a detriot. It is still oiled the same as a normal engine where the fuel isn't used in oiling the engine. A normal diesel engine oil does that. The reason you mix oil with gas in your dirt bike is because the engines crankcase acts as a supercharger forcing the air into the combustion chamber where a detriot has an external supercharger that does that job. Allowing the engine to function with 2 less cycles.

  • does the detroit have mechanically operated valves and lifters, like a regular automotive engine?

  • Yes.

  • @bulletman100 only for the exhaust. Intake is achieved through ports in the cylinder walls. When the piston reaches bottom dead center, it uncovers the ports, while at the same time the regular style valves in the head open. the engne driven blower forces fresh air in thru the ports into he cylender this action forces, or scavenges the exhaust gasses out.

  • @bulletman100 Yes, all mechanical. Cam and crank are 1/1

  • Putting a Detroit Diesel 3-53T or 4-53T into a classic pickup truck is utterly awesome!!

Can anyone make some recommendations on the best place to purchase a professionally rebuilt 3-53T or 4-53T or the best shop to ship one to for a top quality rebuild? Thanks!

  • DieselsAndDiodes..Search " DDRA" or

    Diesel Drag Racers Association..Doug

    Doring..in Conneticut..see his 23T Altered which is 6V53 DD powered...all

850hp of it !! Doug owns a shop specializing in Hi-Po DD's. Also, search..." 70's Detroit Diesel Powered Ford Pickup "......he leaves a Dodge Diesel Really Bad...on the line...runs an

    11:73 et @ 115.31 mph !!! Heck, there's

Alot of "quick" street cars...that only wish they could be that quick in the 1/4mile !!

  • Dude I allways wanted to do that , I had a 3/53 ~ Two Strokes Rule !

  • dude, write sanford and son on the door that be awesome

  • Always go straight pipe!

  • Put a resonater on it...itll be sweet......thats a goat engine...as in gamma goat

  • leave er straight!

    i love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Ever driven one like that...itll give you a headach...if you put the right resonater on it...it will be a lot quiter and sound realy sweet...not like a hunk of crap.

  • i used to run a skidder with a 4-71 straight pipe... umm with ear muffs, but in that case the exhaust is right in front of your face lol

  • I love the flapper smoke stack serioulsy cool

  • She must sit pretty heavy on the front, eh?

  • Yeah this truck is fun. We drove it to the Hot August Nights in Reno, NV. It is LOUD going down the freeway! We both had big ear muffs, but the sound just penetrates your skull.

He doesn't have an air horn on this. It has a Aerostar front end with rack&pinion steering and a GM hydroboost brake under the floor.

  • those are some bad lookin clouds in the back ground

  • yes they are

  • Gotta see more of the truck and the engine what trany do you have in it, how fast have you had it great so far

  • Does this have an air horn?

  • 4-53 means 4 cylinder 53 cubic inch per cylinder. Also then engine is a 2-cycle

  • cmon! more video! Web page w/ photos or something! CMON! :) Your public demands it! :)

  • what cilinders is the 4-53 detroit diesel

  • i believe the detroit diesel in that truck is a V-6 i could be wrong

  • If it was a V6 it would be a 6V53, 6 cylinders, V configuration, 53 cubic inches per cylinder. And boy do these engines sound good at 2800 rpm!

I hope the 4-53 is just a test bed for the 6V.

  • ok, i never knew that detriot makes a 4 cylinder engines, i mean i seen a lot of V6 detriot engines

  • They made alot in the 53 and 71 series, especially the 71s. I've seen 1,2,3,4 and 6-71s. The 53s are screamin little buggers. Damn good little engines, just a bit unnerving when they ran away!

I think the coolest 71s I have ever seen are 24V71s, actually 2 12V71 blocks bolted together, with a comon crank.Talk about a cool sounding Detroit!

  • To me the 6V-53 was the best sounding engine EVER. To me they just sounded much "meaner" than a 6-71 or 8V-71. When I was a kid growing up in Philadelphia I saw MANY trucks with this engine. The Philadelphia Fire Dept. had about a dozen 1969 Seagrave tillers plus some slightly newer ALF tillers and some GMC/Pierce tilt-cab pumps all with 6V-53's. Many volunteer outfits outside Philly had ALF and Hahn pumps with 6V-53's in them. Many commercial trucks had them too.

  • They have that sound as the 53 series have straight cut blower rotors, rather than helical.

8V53s sound even better, but are seldom seen in automotive applications.

  • The 6V53T is much too heavy for an F100, its on the heavy side even in a 1 ton truck.

  • 4 cylinder Series 53.

  • can't wait to see more footage of this truck... cmon man, it's been 2 months! :)

  • lets see it go. full throttle

  • cool

  • scrape

  • Yes! Take us for a vitual drive next time!

  • Go 4 it!! Make some more vids of this truck as you go along.
