Despite the big productions Mediacorp is having, it still cant compared to those days SBC productions. The scrips are awesome, the theme songs and sub-theme songs were well written and it lingers till these days.

The productions nowadays are easily forgotten and theme songs are simply write for the sake of writing... Sad..

Hope to see more of the good old days drama airing.. despite the early hrs airing.. still can record dwn and enjoy for a long time..

All the good directors had been chased off by the government by the end of mid 90's due to increasing strict laws and high censorship here. Sigh...

Xi Ban was a very good show...very realistic portrayal of the hard life these people led. I thot that everyone did a fantastic job esp Chen Shu Cheng and Xiang Yun and the theme song is so appropriately composed for the show..well done to SBC back then...

this show so sad. but if you didn't know, Yang Yan qing who acted in the show sang this song. The show dubbed her with a demure voice. Bai Mu Dan = Xiang Yun was so pretty then
