For strength improvement do weighted reps of 4-10, for strength endurance do reps 10-15 w/ isometric holds at the top of 2-5 seconds

Really dangerous exercise to do for few reps. You should use a light weight and never go until failure. Lower back isn't something you will be packing meat on anyway.

I added 20 kg to my deadlift in under 5 months, from 170 kg to 190 kg. Did only back extensions.
