@formfoam Yes, you are right I am very afraid to break it. The reasons are that the shape of the dodecahedron is rigid by itself (unlike springs) and 1 mm of diameter is very small and could break. So the flexibility of the structure is not due to the flexibility of the dodecahedra, but to the movement of the dodecahedra the ones relatively to the others. Unlike sponge, it is not elastic.
Now imagine a cubical network, with each node linked to its neighbors by springs. This could perhaps work.
At Shapeways in The Magic Shop: "SUCCESSFULLY PRINTEDT" it means theare is ansuccessfully printed? Is it possible to print with a more elastic materials? Thanks.
@formfoam Yes, it means that I ask Shapeways to print it and the print is perfect, with no default (it is the one you can see in the video). It was printed in White Strong and Flexible (Shapeways' name for Nylon-11), I do not know if you can print it in another material (your foam objects are not 3D printed, right?). The constraints of this model are that the diameter of the wire structure is 1 mm, and the shapes are interlocked.
@formfoam Happy that you are interested into this model. Please, feel free post your questions in the Dod'Net description page at Shapeways (click on the link in the description)

Is it really "Strong and Flexible" ? Looks that you are afraid to tear this structure. Is it possible to compress it or to stretch it as sponge-foam?
My foam morphs are manual production, made by my hands and sharp cutting edges.
