Me too. He and Jerry Jeff were Austin originals, not transplants from Nashville, part of the Cosmic Cowboy scene in the 70s.

A grown man taking candy from strangers...I don't know if it's right...Just kiddin...Love the swingin for the bleachers in the 9th inning line...Very memorable to me as a little kid even though I heard it just once on a country station driving through Virginia on the way back from vacation...googled lyrics that I remembered...Found it here & thank you for posting this song Uncle Tom!...Outstanding song!

This was still before he added his middle name. Hit #3 country, #28 AC, #76 pop in Billboard. This was REAL singin'. Michael didn't drop his r's in this 1 at all. God bless!
