  • As a kid... This blew my God-Damn mind. Toonami had a way of just enchanting the imagination with legitimately deep ideas.

  • Toonami 3 minute promos >>>>>>>>> Any 30minute cartoon now a days.

  • R.I.P. Toonami, you've introduced to such great shows. I watched your birth, yet i never saw your death. I remember this promo fondly, it was one of my favorites /manly tear

  • Aftermath is awesome shhh keep it on the dl

  • outer space.... its so quiet

  • Has he remastered all of the vids..?? Hes done quite a bit of them.. Damn good job on an excellent show/block.. Golden memories..

  • I miss this so much omg

  • nostalgic...

  • TO OUTER SPACE!

    EVERY ONE OF US >:O

  • sooooo sick....

hip hop and anime is a must

  • I fuckin' miss Toonami....

  • @zeioIIDX Toonami was the shit! They had some of the best anime on their roster, and the commercials had dope sounds.

  • just got done beating portal...

    SPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACE!

  • we are the last of the toonami generation

  • Toonami invented the AMV

  • That scene wear the guy states breathing still to this day to me is so chilling

  • Looks even better than I remember it.

  • i get goosebumps everytime i watch these promo's...

  • never question the all mighty toonami

  • Life has never been the same w/o Toonami... R.I.P. :'(

  • YES! I FOUND IT!! Thanks a bunch for this up load. Believe it or not I know this commercial WORD BY WORD. God this brings back so many great memories, like staying up at midnights and record my favorite toonami cartoons on VHS. I'm majoring in astro-physics, I'm so going to show this to my colleagues when I work at NASA. lol

  • @Legato55 astro-physics damn lol well shit im tryna be an astronaut we got something in common

  • Im the best at space.

  • The feeling I get when watching this is priceless man

  • Welcome back to my playlist

  • I used this promo like literal audio xanax when I was in high school (going through a family divorce plus typical teenage bs) and having no other thing to calm me down, except this loop in my head "and never forget how beautiful the earth looks from afar" . . .

  • Dope

  • Nostalgia love has become genuine respect. Excellent nod to Sun Ra as well, they really had their wits about them.

  • 1:38 Vegeta?!?!?

  • @undergroundrevolt Correct.

  • OUTER SPACE!!!

    *Toonami ruled*

  • 0:43 - 0:54 Is my favorite part.

  • @cici2121 hell yea this part was so realistic.

  • gotta admit..Gundam n DBZ has to got have the best promos..

    ......keep er goin...

  • SPAAAAAAAAAAAAACE! GOTTA GO TO SPACE!

  • What has happened to humanity? We knew what the risks were in the 60's but we went to the Moon anyway. Now we are to greedy to spend the money and to chickenshit to accept the risks.

  • one of the most remembered videos that will live inside me forever and be never forgotten. soon some day animation these days will be back like back then and these crappy cartoons that cn makes for young kids will be removed and violence will soon be back as people won't and can't held back on just making animation to a certain point where there is no violence or just mild violence to the viewers.

  • @XGreywolfxXx Right instead, the crappy sugar-bent animation of today's cartoons (save avatar) are a violent act in themselves. (like high fructose corn syrup for kids)

  • Fuckin dope.

  • i remember recording this on vhs

  • I really enjoyed the deep undertoned subliminal messages in the toonami commercials as a kid. They don't put stuff like this in todays tv anymore.

  • Catra breathing is the best part of the video... is that creepy?

  • I called Outer Space once... dude doesn't talk much.

  • Finally! I finally found it! Can someone please tell me what is the name of this song?

  • @Leones44 It's called Strings.

  • @Leones44 You can find it on the Toonami Deep Space Bass album.

  • thank you for the remastered version... brings a tear to my eye...

  • Needs more Sun Ra.

  • "Outer space....it's so quiet".

This made me laugh for some reason. Memories. :3

  • god!!i loved toonami not so much the '08 version of it but i was still toonami

  • What show is that?

  • @MrJayPerry Which one? There's a few different shows here.

  • @SlimD716V2 The space and mecha ones. Which is basically all of them.

  • @MrJayPerry It's mostly Gundam Wing.

  • @MrJayPerry Gundam Wing is the one with the most scenes.

  • @MrJayPerry Most of the clips in this one were taken from Gundam Wing

  • @MrJayPerry You probably meant Gundam Wing. It's the show used most in this. There's also a short clip from what I believe is "Battle of the Planets" in the beginning (the people watching the projector) and a few short clips of Dragon Ball Z. But the video is like 90% Gundam Wing.

  • Toonami Forever!!

  • And suddenly i realise where my love of DnB started...

  • thank you so much for these uploads, brings me back 10 years.

  • Even the commercials on toonami kicked ass

  • @Supahx on toonami, you WANT to watch the commercials, you use your dvr to skip TOO the commercials, lol

  • @GraandMasterWalrusz Indeed my son, I trained you well

  • gumdam 00 + gundam seed >>>>>>>>gundam wing!!!!

  • @FabulousZero

Awesome. Good to know you posted this on a video showing one of the greatest professionally-made AMVs that just happens to feature a ton of GW scenes and quotes.

  • This is what I live for. To promote the real space race. WAKE UP PEOPLE! Our population has JUMPED to 7 Billion. ITS TIME TO LEAVE OUR MOTHER Earth.

  • watching gundam wing isnt the same anymore. i miss promos like these before the show

  • @sliccviet94 hell yea the 90s were the shit

  • damn I remember that heavy breathing....

  • POWER LEVELS TO MAXIMUM!

  • @JulianVParrish It's over 9000!!

  • Oh wow. I miss these.

  • God I miss toonami. I wonder why that one person decided to dislike it?

  • *currently laughing at everyone who hasn't seen anything toonami has put on*

every channel needs QUALITY anime like this. 4kids can only dream of epic anime like this. Nickelodeon had avatar, but moved it to their all toon channel. Disney........just...no. Even with the lack of anime on cartoon network, adult swim will help compensate for lack of anime.

  • 0:44 still gets me when I get high.

  • Toonami was more than a just a show, it's life!

  • My friends and I used to go to each other's houses, do our homework by 3:30, then hunker down to watch at 4, every day without fail.

I don't watch anime any longer and haven't for years, but I will never deny Toonami's place in my childhood. It taught me to be brave as Saiyans, resolute as Sailor Scouts, clever as Gundam pilots, and to always be prepared for anything (like space pirates).

I truly pity kids today who don't have Toonami, because the shows they have now will never come close.

  • Dont give up toonami faithful, We can still bring toonami back. Theres a petition for toonami on a facebook page called "Petition to bring back toonami" its looking pretty good, we all should sign it and spread the word about it. This is our chance fellow toonami faithful, this is our moment to revive those shows that made us dream, those deep promos that made us creative and insightful. Toonami crafted the artistic, well rounded people we are today don't give up, there's strength in numbers.

  • If there was one promo I remember, it is this one. I use to just sit and wait for them to play that one or stop what I was doing just to see.

Man if god or a Magician ever came to me and gave me the chance to go back in time of my life. These years would def be one of them.

  • I miss coming home from school to this shit, then going to school the next day thinking about this the whole fucking day.

  • They got rid of anime on CN because they thought it was too violent for the age group they were presenting it too, which I think is a load of bullshit. I think they didnt want external cultures to become so mainstream too I think they were scared of that.

  • sure they could bring toonami back but you won't have that same feeling of coming home after school and relax with some anime

  • Way better than commericals

  • This sparked an old memory. Watching the Gundam Wing finale episode was one of the greatest moments of my childhood.

  • I remember these so fondly. Kudos for uploading them and props to metroidman7 for remastering them.

  • Thumbs up for the random shot of Vegeta.

  • Thumbs up if InSonicnia is the only reason your watching this.

  • 0:43 - 0:53 makes me feel that it really is lonely in space

  • @Xfight92 thats what i do it helps feel the voied

  • This is my favorite memory of Toonami. I just wish that real people actually dreamed about the possibilities in outer space so that I can one day see for my self how beautiful the earth looks from afar...

  • @SteinManOne HEY DUDE, you are looking at the one person that will fulfill that dream, I will filled that void, my dream is to travel to different planets and galaxies, sound bizarre, sounds impossible, and it sounds funny. But, I believe that I will be the man that will venture in space, infact, I might live up there, Outer Space is a beautiful place to be at, I want everybody to encourage me, lol.

  • @SteinManOne you are real people.

  • you no i finally figured out y up and coming generations will be just a little lamer then most....they don't have a toonami

  • haha 1:51 is a clip from dragonball z im sure.

  • Am I the only one that came here from the rollover text from inSONICnia issue 288?

  • Oh god the nostalgia

  • I dont know why shows in the anime business like one piece, highschool of the dead, naruto shippuden ,and bleach are ptuing therre shows online and getting watched and downloaded when they can be put on toonami.I think the Anime Business and Toonami can work together to help both the anime industry and cartoon network itself because not only cn,but animation networks like nick and disney are now these days using sloppy methods to trick and bore the young generation of the world today.

  • wats with vegeta being in this he doesnt pilot a gundam

  • @dragonfirefly1993

So what? The scenes featuring him fit the video's theme.

  • Like everyone here is saying Toonami was/is the best program that cartoon-dumbasses ever had!. They can never beat toonami. The only way they can is if they bring it back!, but that's not gonna happen. Toonami made me the way I am today. I learned everything from "life lessons to whats really important" & "right from wrong" Toonami was made by fans for fans. It could possible become a religion. LMFAO Tom = Jesus XD

  • You can really tell that most of the time, Toonami was run be people who loved what they did and what they watched.

  • Bye bye NASA.... B.T. 1981-2011 A.T.

    Before,After,Toonami

  • A space promo it's more of a second half of gundam wing promo

  • Nostalgia bomb.

  • I'd love to download all these videos as one massive awesome---just...I want...

  • I miss toonami so much

  • I wish I could go back then, back in time. Even if it was just for a week. I just want to feel it. That strange feeling that anyone who watched the initial run shares. I can't really say nostalgia because it was only during the run that it was felt. Beyond description I suppose. Just...Toonami

  • @ParCheesy09 "That strange feeling that anyone who watched the initial run shares." Amen. I know exactly what you're talking about.

People instinctively recognize when they're in contact with perfection. The word you're looking for is "sublime." For me, it was a borderline religious experience in the literal sense of the word: that first run brought me just a little closer to God, since it taught me courage, honor, mercy, and kindness as a young man from the ages of 8 to 15.

    God, I miss it.

  • So that guy from 1:49 to 1:54 His voice sounds so familiar and I can't really place it. To me it sounds like Fred Willard but he's not credited for it on imdb. Although, because it was a really minor role, I'm not surprised. Can someone confirm who does that guy's voice? It bugs the hell out of me lol

  • Right...but it'll be DANGEROUS! ahh that's what i remember most about this one.

  • everyone go to .t o o n a m i a f t e r m a t h .you will thank me!

  • coooooooooooool...

  • How did you go about remastering these videos?

  • space, the final frontier. I'm looking forward to it.

  • Thank you so much for this vid!!! It brings so many memories back. Today's cartoons cannot hold a flame to the epicness we witnessed back then. This is about to be my 3rd year of college and I still come back here to reminisce. I may sound like the biggest loser, but I don't how one can sit here and not 'get the lump in the throat' and slight watering of the eyes. Crazy enough after these years, these scenes and beats still get me. Thanks dude greatly appreciated.

  • I posted this in another vid but ill post it here....One of the music vids they hosted up i cant seem to find anywhere...I only remember the hook "God bless the America" or something like that and the vid had a dancing spaceman or something...If anyone knows the name of that vid youd be awesome!!!

  • Dear God this takes me back....

  • Thumbs up if Kajin sent you here.

  • I think i'll subscribe , thanks for the old memories!!!

  • This should be NASA's theme song

  • Ahh my sweet childhood memories:D !! I luv all the Toonami music vids :D !! I could never really pick a fav one because all of them were my favs :D !! I miss Toonami :D !! I luv this one also :D !!

  • so very dope

  • Solid gold.

  • spppaaaaaaaaaceeeeeeeeeeee

  • does anyone know the toonami album this song was on?

  • simply beautiful. i miss these days.

  • outer space

  • Talented people are capable of understanding us.

  • Quality is blowing my mind...in a good way. 8D

  • how could you not rewatch gundam after this

  • @hanerei I feel physically compelled to stay up all night watching it!

  • @hanerei Lack of computer or DVD player probably.

  • i just noticed Quatre has Light's voice lol, wow im late

  • I truly feel bad for the kids and the young adults who didn't get to grow up with this stuff like I did. Toonami showcased some of the best anime in the world. I remember running home from school to catch DBZ and other shows like it and then staying up late at night to watch other shows it had. I look at it now and I just feel disgusted to what it turned into. Cartoon Network did what MTV did a long time ago...become a hollow shell of its former glory. I pray it comes back...

  • Space really is the place. Good memories and excellent job on the remastering. I feel like I'm 15 again. I grew up with the anime in the 90's this new generation truly missed out on great shows back then. R.I.P Toonami and Tom. Oh Yeah Peter Cullen was epic on voicing these Toonami promos and inspirations.

  • unfuckingfortunately, this may never be reached. by america at least. since nasa jsut got shut down...

  • @ThisGuy1219

    NASA hasn't been shut down.

  • @Ginga no but didnt their funding get cut? if not then everything i say is a lie :3

  • @ThisGuy1219

Yes, their funding is being cut.

  • @ThisGuy1219 NASA's funding has been cut, but I honestly think it's a good thing, because the era of government-led space exploitation has passed. Private space corporations have already risen to fill the void, it's seriously exciting stuff, because they can do the exact same thing NASA has done (move people and things to low Earth orbit) for the last 30 years and do it MUCH cheaper.

  • @Halo4Lyf yeah because theres never been movies, literature or anime that show private corporation doing unethical things when they think there outside earths jurisdiction, when you move from a national level to a private level a lot more underhanded things go unnoticed.

  • A true masterpiece among Toonami's many marvelous promos. To me, this music video and maybe "Walking Stick" encapsulate the Golden Age of Toonami.

  • this is the best one on youtube. great job metroidman7.

  • Great video !

  • Man, Toonami was the stuff back then. Dragonball Z, Gundam Wing, Sailor Moon, all of the good anime was on then. Nowadays everything is just poorly dubbed (a la Sonic X)

  • I just nostalgia-ed hard

  • what beat is that in the video? does anybody know

  • @StretchGriff It's called Strings.

  • @SlimD716V2 thanks ..I been tryna find this for years...

  • Back then... you cared about having cable

  • this is gold

  • Oooh, this gives me chills... It still gives me chills, even ten years later...!

  • Hope I'ma talented person...

    Excellent Quality.

  • You know your a 90's kid when you use to stay up for the midnight run on Toonami.

    Thumbs up.

  • @SatoiK yeah and even more so when you stayed up on a school night Without your parents knowing or even if they said no just to watch it .

  • @opp861 Hell yea, Back then TV was really good.

  • @SatoiK midnight run ran from 1999 to 2003.....

  • @JeffreyRWu what shows did they show during the midnight run?

  • Best Promo EVER lol thumbs up for Gundam Wing and DBZ

  • He says in the begining PERHAPES THEIR WAS AN AGE WHEN PEOPLE DREAMED ABOUT THE POSSIBILITIES OF OUTER SPACE....My saying is PERHAPES THEIR WAS AN AGE WHEN PEOPLE DREAMED ABOUT MAKING GOOD CARTOONS

  • talented people are capeble of understanding this amin to that

  • how'd you get these in HD? amazing...glad I found you..was looking for one of the promos and I found them all. Literally got the chills and a tear in my eye. These were so ahead of its time, as far as a promo/ad. thank you so much.

"right, but it will be dangerous"

  • @tenknics metroidman7 replaced all the clips used in the video with high quality clips from DVD.

  • @SlimD716V2 What DVD?

  • @GotekDarkSamurai Clips from the DVDs for the shows used in this promo like Gundam Wing and DBZ.

  • @SlimD716V2 Dude that must have taken a hell of a lot of editing to get them perfect to sync with toonami's audio nice job
